Desciption - We took a decadent Honey Wheat Wine and placed it into a woodford reserve bourbon barrel 4 months ago. Tipping the abv scales at 12%, Wood Ya Honey is a a beer to be savored. Flavors of caramel, honey, vanilla, wood, and bourbon intermingle creating a crimson colored delight.

I love these crazy Jackie O’s beers. This was nice. Aroma is sweet, big, boozy, vanilla, honey and molasses. Flavor had a hint of tartness, sugar, caramel and bourbon. Smooth and well made, pleasure to drink.

From handbottle. Pours a slightly cloudy reddish brown body with a minimal head. Really really sweet smelling with lots of bourbon, honey, and vanilla. Some noticeable alcohol, but with the density of the aroma it’s pretty well hidden. Super sweet and bourbon forward flavor up front with a really great honey finish that works well with the caramel malts, all of which plays against the wood really nicely. Thick and full body with a palate coating viscous heft. Slightly clingy on the finish, but the alcohol thins it a bit in the finish. Nice beer, dangerously drinkable for the ABV.

Handbottle via scrizz. Fuck yeah hoes! Big bourbon, honey, sweet caramel and vanilla on the nose. Some honeyed sweetness. Hazy dark red brown. No head stagnant. Sweet bourbon, vanilla, tart oaky notes. Booze. Caramel, dark wheat, honey, green apple, oak. Shit tons of barrel. Extremely light carbonation, almost casj like. Good tasting, but rather boozey.

BCTC. Pours a hazy murky brown with a thin white head. Bourbon, vanilla, and caramel on the nose. Lightly tart, a little acrid. Finishes lightly dry. Interestingly, I had no idea that this was 12%. Hides the ABV rather well.

Growler at DLD 2009: Mahogany hued with a solid lasting head. The aroma has notes of smoked meat, bourbon, wheat husks, caramel, tobacco, and all spice. The taste is twangy lactic fruits of a layer of malty and spicy tones. A hint of sour milk and mineral water upon the finish is a major turn off. The mouth feel is lively and dry. Good up to the aftertaste then it falls flat on it’s face.
