COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy! May 2013 release.

Bottle. From notes. Maple syrup and a good dose of meaty smoke. This is definitely a bottle to share.

Soft orange with flat head. Thick rusty sweetness, with edge of pancakes left in the toaster too long. Stern oilyness with a decent malt sweep. Pinch of roast and fairly sad finish debasing early promise.

Bottle, Secret Summer Santa

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Cheers to Leighton. Hazy amber beer, little bubbly white head. Palate is light and soft and dry. Smooth and light creamy malt. Floral note. Smoke is pretty obvious but never gets acrid. Light dry finish. Pretty tasty and a little different.

500ml bottle from duchessedubourg.
Appearance : Clear shiny amber with medium foamy and creamy head.
Aroma : Light maple syrup with light smoke. Smoke is a bit meaty. Light wood notes with nice chewy malts.
Taste : Nice maple syrup, light sweetness. Light smoke.
Palate : A bit thin maybe.
Overall : interesting beer. Nice mix of flavors that are going actually pretty well together. Nicely drinkable. Original and pretty well made.

A very interesting beer that is more mellow than you would think, given the participants and ingredients. This works well as a dessert beer but also just as a beer. Good.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy brown color, white hubby head that produced a good retention. Nose is nice maple syrup, caramel with just a hint of smoke. The lactose sugar gives the maple an extra sweetness that really tones down the smoked malt. The body is medium with the sweetness being a major aspect. Maybe my favorite smoked beer I have sampled to this date.
