COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy! May 2013 release.

On tap at Black Back with Max and Andy. Pours a clear amber with a thin beige head. Sweet smoky salty. Medium, light sweetness, smoke, warm malt. Not as sweet as it starts, soft maple, light smoke into dry grain.

Pours a rich deep copper brown color with a finger or two of eggshell foam. Earthy smoked malt, maple sugar and some underlying pine. Would like to braise some sausage in this beer but as a pint its a little underwhelming. Too much smoke and maple not enough balance and integration.

500ml bottle In a tulip. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of smokiness, a little maple, some pale malts, and light hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. Could be better.

8 ounce sample on tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grille in Burlington, VT. The aroma has a good deal of maple sugar-like sweetness. This is backed up by just a scant amount of smokiness. Light metallic lager character is also present. Really aromatic. Virtually transparent copper-orange body with a small, off-white head. No lacing. Starts with a lightly sweet flavor, before a good deal of maple syrup flavors come through in the middle. This is abruptly halted by fairly stern smoked malt flavors. The smoke lingers late, but plays well with the sweetness of the maple. A little under-carbonated, but extremely drinkable. Very good!

On tap at Blackback in Waterbury, Vermont. Moderate smoke character with just a touch of maple. Too much smoke for me.
