3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
.5 liter bottle. It pours a nice dark brown color with lots of streaming bubbles and a rather thick off white head. The aroma is pretty strong with coffee, smoke and a light savory note backed up by some chocolate malt. The flavor is very roasted with subdued smoke and coffee notes, but in balance with one another. The body is pretty light but satisfying enough. It finishes with some burnt toast, coffee and chocolate. Not terribly exciting, but still a very nice black lager.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cl bottle from the brewery pours a watery, cola brown with some thin, white head. Nose has bright, fresh, delicious smelling coffee beans, some bread crust, toast, a flick of barbecue smoke, a little cocoa bean. Flavor is very well balanced, malty sweetness, some chocolate, a little licorice, bread crust, coffee grounds and then a lingering light smoke at the end. Clean, dry finish. Incredibly drinkable despite the complex flavors.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle thanks to WillRunForBeer. Pours very dark brown with ruby highlights. Medium sized foamy head that lingers nicely. Aroma is fresh, light roasted coffee beans with some peaty smoke. Taste is sweeter than I expected. Lots of fresh coffee, peat smoke, and light chocolate. Medium body, fizzy carbonation provides a slightly odd mouthfeel. Overall pretty good but the sweetness and carbonation don’t seem to fit with the style here.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Guess I’m not hip enough to get the lager obsession, but its a decent beer, on cask at Rye and Thyme (note is wrong about august 13 release only) but I’m just struggling to pick up anything other than the egregious amount of coffee, not really any smoky flavor other than the lingering finish which could still be coffee... good beer, but not earth shattering.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Better then regular smoke and dagger but somehow a bit disjointed with smoked meat and coffee fighting with each other for control of the flavor. Nice but nothing great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with a high brown head that survives right til the end. Smoke and coffee in the nose, as expected. Caramel malt backbone with a nice dark coffee flavor. There’s a little smoke left, but it’s not as prominent as it is in the regular Smoke and Dagger.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with a medium foamy tan/mocha head. Aroma has dark chocolate, roasty malts, and a slight woody note. Flavor still has plenty of dark chocolate but adds nice roastiness, mild coffee notes that help cut the sweetness, and must the faintest hint of woody smoke. Mouthfeel is full and the finish lingers to a blend of coffee and faint dark chocolate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very drinkable with a nice smoky/roasted aroma coming from the coffee beans. Not overly sweet and mouthfeel was more slick than syrup.

Sampled at brewery. Dark brown pour with an off white head. Interesting coffee beer though I think I might prefer the regular Smoke & Dagger over this. The coffee flavor overwhelmed all the other flavors.
