COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire in the Ham Caution! This is an intensely smokey lager similar to those found in Bamberg, Germany. Most of this brew’s malt was dried over flaming beechwood, which ingrains unique smokey flavors. Aromas of campfires, smoked ham, and bacon dominate a soft malt and hop backbone. Although hard to believe, this beer is vegan friendly. OG 13 Plato / IBUs 20 / ABV 5.4%

Tap. Poured light hazey gold with white head. Strong smokey taste, aroma was like an Easter dinner, which was great. After drinking, I’d rather have the ham with my beer, not in it, nice try guys.

Bottle 500ml. Pours blond with low white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is of smoke, like in smoke fish. Taste is of smoke, fruits, malt. Palate: Ligth body. Crisp texture. Overall: Weird smoke. Not bad, but not the kind of beer I enjoy.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks! cloudy pale golden with a small white head, some retention. bacon and smoked fish, nice lightly toasted lager base - fresh cereals and a very hint of fruitiness. average to soft carbonation, light body - some texture, short herbal finish. nice.

Bottle (500 ml). Thanks to reynolds314! Slightly hazy blond with a small white head. Aroma is of bacon and smoked malt with not much else. Taste is about the same. Medium body. Dry. Not very complex and pretty straightforward. Didn’t find any hops in there though the beer was fresh. As usual with Jack’s Abby, there’s no flaws in the lager base.

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC. Pours clear, light gold with a fine, white foam head. Lovely, clean smokey aroma. Light sweet flavor, smokey pale malts, straw, bit of ham. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Crisp finish, sturdy smoked malts, some background dry doughy malts. Rich smokey-bready aftertaste. Great.

pint bottle shared with Eric. There is lots of smoke in the aroma with a tiny amount of metallic hops. The flavor is liquid smoke, honey, and just a hint of bitter hops. There is a lot of smoke in the aroma, but it does not overpower the flavor. The sweet finish is very nice.

Surprisingly mild for a smoked (especially with this name). I was impressed with the way the beer stayed together and did not become cloying, however, the syrupy nature of the smoke flavors in the end brought the beer down from very good.

500 ml shared by pantanap. Thanks, dude. Pours a nice hazy golden pour, well hazed, good glow, glowing straw, harvest gold. A richer frothy whitish head atop dies to a film, firm ring, laces ok. Aromas are hot campfire meats, rich hammy meats. Bacon, ham flavors and smoke, campfire are firm. Gentle bread, dough. Initial is lighter end of the fold in body, richer campfire meats, just a touch of smoked apple. Smoked bread, grain, touch of dough, gentle florals. Middle is a bit sweet, doughy with a touch lemon, gentle grass, kiss of florals. Gentle yeast, bread, firm gentle hammy smoke. Backend shows dryness as we clean it up a bit. A touch meaty but more dry, gentle dry florals and earthy hops, gentle ham and campfire, more bready and dry doughy malts. Solid fucking beer.

Bottle shared by Kan. Thanks! Pours an attractive copper with a white head. Nose is hammy, smoked with a clovey presence and toasty malt. On tasting, rich malty profile, dominant smoke permeates. The smoke brings with it some clove phenols as well that are the sole detractor. Still, solid rauchbier.
