COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire in the Ham Caution! This is an intensely smokey lager similar to those found in Bamberg, Germany. Most of this brew’s malt was dried over flaming beechwood, which ingrains unique smokey flavors. Aromas of campfires, smoked ham, and bacon dominate a soft malt and hop backbone. Although hard to believe, this beer is vegan friendly. OG 13 Plato / IBUs 20 / ABV 5.4%

Palish gold pour. Smokey aroma. Smokey, mildly hoppy flavor. Interesting in that it’s smokey, but boring beyond that.

Pours a pale orange colour with a lasting off-white head. Smells very lightly smokey. Taste is surprisingly mild on the smoke, with some interesting grilled pineapple notes. Refreshing!

On tap at Lord Hobo. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a medium sized head. Grain over citrus and a touch of musk. A faint touch of sulfur behind it, though that could just be people sitting near me with no control over their bodies, yeah, probably is. Some faint smoke, bacon filled. The eggy sulfur smell is now clearly from my neighbors. Fuck those guys and their eggy intestines. Medium bodied, smoke, a bit of grain, a touch of sweetness. Easy drinking, smoky and grainy. Smoke lingers into the finish, almost greasy. Pretty nice smoke, ham and bacon, meaty. Slow lingering smoke into the finish, long gentle sweetness. I really want some pickles now.

Lots of smoke and definitely has the vibe of smoked ham. Hazy golden pour with decent head. Light sweet finish with bitter burnt note. Tap at brewpub.

Pours cloudy golden color with a white head. Aroma is smoked meat. Flavor is light malt with a light sour flavor followed by lots of smokey flavors. It’s like I’m eating ham. Pairs well with Sharp Vermont Cheddar.

Bottle from Georgio’s Liquors. Bright clear gold pour with lacy white head. Aroma is smoky, lots of meaty smoky aromas, light bready malt notes. Taste is smoky, almost saline, very meaty, some sweetness. Palate is med-light bodied, light carbonation, a bit sticky. Good.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with a small white quickly dissipating head that leaves no lacing. Big aroma of wood smoke, pine tar and smoked meat. Lightly bitter, light to watery body, lively and quite distraction carbo, no malt flavor and a smokey watery finish.

Not my thing apparently. Smells and tastes like smoked gouda, and like smoked gouda, is good at first, but not for very long.
