2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured a slightly hazy yellow hue w/ white fizzy mostly diminishing head and good lacing. Light aroma of smokey toast. Initial flavor light acidic to a light bitter finish. Tastes are smoke, lemon, grass, and cereal. Light bodied, watery texture, soft carbonation, and a light metallic feel in the finish. One of the better smoked beers Iíve had seems a bit smokey at first sip, but the flavor is of short duration making it an enjoyable drinker.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Lord Hobo. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a medium sized head. Grain over citrus and a touch of musk. A faint touch of sulfur behind it, though that could just be people sitting near me with no control over their bodies, yeah, probably is. Some faint smoke, bacon filled. The eggy sulfur smell is now clearly from my neighbors. Fuck those guys and their eggy intestines. Medium bodied, smoke, a bit of grain, a touch of sweetness. Easy drinking, smoky and grainy. Smoke lingers into the finish, almost greasy. Pretty nice smoke, ham and bacon, meaty. Slow lingering smoke into the finish, long gentle sweetness. I really want some pickles now.

Lots of smoke and definitely has the vibe of smoked ham. Hazy golden pour with decent head. Light sweet finish with bitter burnt note. Tap at brewpub.

Not my thing apparently. Smells and tastes like smoked gouda, and like smoked gouda, is good at first, but not for very long.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Slightly hazy light golden with a thin rocky white head. Lovely smokey nose of slightly greasy ham and bacon, a little wood, and blonde german malty tones on the background. Smooth and flavorful body thatís not too smokey or too hammy, but there is a bit of smoked ham in there, itís very pleasant and german blonde malty, very light grassy hops provide a nice flavor to support it all. Amazing smoked beer that actually has nuance.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was on tap at Growler Garage.
This was poured into a tulip (eh, donít ask me why the place canít pour lagers into lager glasses, whatever, hereís the rest).
The appearance was a slight bronzed yellow color with a bar pourís kind of slim white head that dissipated pretty quickly.
The smell had bacon, a light layer of smokiness, subtle ham and a light little bit of breadiness underneath.
The taste was basically the same: roasty, smoky with a subtle sweet underneath. The aftertaste was moderately smoky with the breadiness balancing in it. Thereís a slight quick smoky finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a subtle crisp to mostly smokey ham to bacon feel hitting my tongue. Barely any bitterness, but understandable and actually really nice to me.
Overall, Iíd say this was a nice rauchbier or maybe "smoked" beer. Iíd have again for me at least.

Smokey aroma for sure. Heavy smoke and lager character, and that is all. Not for everyone thatís for sure. Big head from pour.
