2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured a slightly hazy yellow hue w/ white fizzy mostly diminishing head and good lacing. Light aroma of smokey toast. Initial flavor light acidic to a light bitter finish. Tastes are smoke, lemon, grass, and cereal. Light bodied, watery texture, soft carbonation, and a light metallic feel in the finish. One of the better smoked beers I’ve had seems a bit smokey at first sip, but the flavor is of short duration making it an enjoyable drinker.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Super cloudy, toasted golden color. Soapy khaki-tinted head that fades to a collar quickly. Aroma of peated mats, lightly meaty smoke, faint bacon, salt, some toasted cereal grains. Taste is less meaty & more just smoke heavy. Liquid smoke, peat, mild campfire, toasted grain, pale malt, straw, a touch of grassiness. Mild char towards the finish. Light-medium bodied. A little subdued over all but still pretty nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Taster from Tap at the brewery. Clear, bright golden color. Nose of smoked ham, brown sugar added and baked. Very smoky flavor, ham, lightly malty, great balance. A well done version of a pale and smoky beer where the smoke flavors can stand out.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Sav Mor Liquors, drunk 4/5/14
Glassy, clear, soft-rosy/orange colored body is topped by a beige head that recedes slowly to cover.
Caramel mixes with smoke in the nose, rather sweet and bacony, with lots of black pepper, soft vanilla notes and a bit of raisiny-like sweetness. The smoke isn’t dominant here. Didn’t think it really faded that fast, but this certainly is to the contrary. I think this is what, 9 or 10 months old? No signs of oxidation, just lots of maltiness.
The flavor is more of the same, somewhat tired body is low on carbonation, with some sugary, bordering syrupy caramel notes more than balancing the light smoke phenols. No flaws or anything, just without the big smokiness, it’s a touch too sweet and I’m surprised how little carbonation is left. Will be curious to try an aged bottle of Smoked Marzen and see what happens.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
It pours a hazy straw gold with a couple of inches of foam, some awesome lacing left behind as the foam shrinks slowly.
It smells like a lovely breakfast minus the eggs; smoked ham, big on bacon aromas, it has my attention 100%.
Tastes just like what I smelled. Big bacon, ham, yeah, the smoke IS intense and is not for the timid but I’ve never been accused of being timid. It comes in a 16.9 oz bottle and I’m sure, after I’m finished, I would not yearn for another but that’s no slant on the brew at all. Sometimes one and done works.
Medium bodied with perfect carbonation.
This beer was, as I have finished, a real treat for me. Thanks again, Kevin!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500mL bottle, sent from Gregg657 (thanks a lot, Pete), pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Nose brings out lots smoke, but not of the ashtray kind, but lighter. Flavour is similar, with notes of smoke and to an lesser degree, corn. The smoke is very prominent, drowning out everything else that might be there otherwise. Decent stuff - a drinkable not-too-overpowering smoked lager.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
$3.80 for the 500mL bottle purchased at Leary’s earlier today. Pours a hazy tangerine with a bubbly whitish head one finger in length. Aromas of earl grey tea, sawdust, Bible paper, toasted cedar, and butt ash. Tastes the same with the addition of blueberry flowers, sea salt, and plastic by mid-palate to swallow. This is what I’m thinking: asjhsdfkjsdfjksafijegiuhjdfosagkdg

lightly cloudy gold pour with a white head. GABF 13. Smokey? Yeah. Tons of ham and bacon all over this one. Nice mouth feel. Sure tastes like it has meat in it!
