COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoponius Union harmoniously combines lager yeast fermentation and West Coast IPA hops. Our India style Pale Lager is like a traditional IPA but with a twist - it’s fermented cold and aged for extended periods. A blend of classic American hops creates a huge tropical fruit and citrusy hop aroma. A dry finish accentuates the pleasant bitterness and hop profile. Hoponius Union uses locally sourced ingredients. OG 15.5 Plato

Draft. Pours orange with a thin white head. Fresh fruity citric hops, medium bitterness, clean pale malts, and a nice fresh hoppy bitter finish. Clean, simple, and delicious.

Pours a nice bright gold with a big puffy head, a light cream color. Lots of lacing, very good retention, in case you’re curious. The aroma is quite hoppy. Big on bright citrus with a little tropical fruit in the mix. Nice floral note, as well. Sugary, doughy malt underneath all of those hops. Taste is similar. Lots of hop flavor. It pretty much drinks like an IPA. It’s just a bit cleaner for better and worse. The hops start with sweet floral and citrus flavors but get a bit bland in the finish. It’s just not quite as juicy as I’d like. Nice dry finish, otherwise. Light mouthfeel with a little bit of hop oiliness. Very good beer.

On tap at Griffin’s Publick House. Dazzling, almost peppery hops accentuate this rich pale ale. Citrusy and fresh. A pleasant malt backbone, but appropriately minimal. Clean, dry finish. Yeah, I could drink this again.

bottle from tom10101, thanks bro. pours unclear very light golden with a nice white head, good retention and lacing. spicy citrus and soft grapefruity resins, dankness or maybe a hint of phenols, peppery, herbal and floral notes, shy but present lager fruitiness - was hoping for more. average to moderate carbonation, bit of booze, medium body - oily, assertive spicy-herbal-grapefruity short to medium long finish. nicely done. good.

12 bottle pours hazy golden with a slight head. Very hoppy for the style, naturally. Hops are citrusy but a good amount of cat piss. I’d be very surprised if simcoe hops were not used in this brew. Pleasant, dry finish. It’s aight.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2013 Pours a clear golden with a thin white head that leaves great lacing. Aroma is grassy and lightly dank. Some citrusy hops in the background too. Taste is indeed hoppy and bitter (medium-high but never harsh) with some fresh cereals flavors buried in a pile of grapefruit rinds. No sweetness perceived so I would have to describe it as "dry". Body is light, texture a bit oily. Carbonation level is high, this is really drinkable. Nice!

Not blown away by an overally hoppy aroma this beer delivers in an easier drinking manner. Crisp and clean body with an orange yellow color. Could definitely throw back a few.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2013 Multiple draft samples at GABF 2013. Cleanly fermented with a vibrant tropical fruit, gum, sweet onion and resin-focused aroma / flavor. Medium to low apparent sweetness, medium bitterness, hugely hoppy / gummy / fruity flavor. Carbonation is froth and full while the malt is medium to light body. Clean and delicious, though I’m not much a fan of these onion-y American hop strains in lager.

Bottle share by Ryan, hazy golden color with a quickly fading white head. Aroma of citrus hops and some grains. Taste is the same, taste is some citrus and light bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
