October 6, 2013 - bottle via trade with Matt. Clear orangish pour with some head that faded quickly. Aroma was citrus / fruity hops with some grain. Taste was consistent with aroma, but also had some sweetness.

Aroma of citrius and pine. Slight bitter and hoppy taste. A very drinkable ipa i mean ipl. Very light crisp and smooth, good but i like a little more body and bite.

I have found the perfect Ipa. Ok, technically this is an IPL (India Pale Lager). Crisp, clean and delicious! Jack’s Abby never disappoints. From the Citra hop aroma, through the sharp, yet smooth finish, this beer is phenomenal. Eminently drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. Light golden color, strong hop character, and extremely dry. Not overly citrus or piney, just a good solid bitterness throughout. Almost gave me a little pucker and I needed some water afterward. Good beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus hop, grain and fruit aroma. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Well worth having.

Bottle. My first beer while in Boston for training. Pours a pale gold with a thin head. Floral aroma with a nice citrus front and a light bitter finish. Very well done.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Taste as draft. Cloudy, medium amber, little lace.
Medium body, low acidity and alcohol, feels more like an ale in the mouth than a lager, but not as rich. Intense hop flavor, good length.
Bitter but not as a pils, balanced by some malt.

500 ml. bottle. Thanks Vin! It pours a rich golden color with a nice thick white head. The aroma is intense with a nice blend of spicy onion and tropical fruity hops. Not much lager yeast, just smells like a West Coast IPA. The flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma with a dry, prickly mouthfeel that I guess suggests the lager aspect of this beer. Lots of onion and citrus. Really nice medium body. Pretty interesting beer. I wouldn’t have guessed it was a lager…. just a cool fermented West Coast IPA. Tasty stuff.
