Enjoyable beer. Great balance between hops, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Grassy hop explosion on the aroma...fresh and sweet, love the aroma. Taste is just as good. Hoppy grass up front with a sweet bitter finish. White lacing left on glass...yellow/orange cloudy color. Big fan of this beer. Next time I am in Mass. I will seek out.

Beatifuly citrus and floral notes up front, with a fantastic malty, sweet finish. Great time.

9th August 2012 GBBF. Light haze on this amber beer. Few white bubbles for a head. Light dry palate. Fine carbonation. Good grassy - minty hops with green hops sting and nice tangerine - orange citrus underneath. Grassy finish which is dry and crisp. Another very good and fresh cask IPA from the US - salute BSF!

Medium orange body, one inch white head, soapy lacing. Nose is mild citrus -- grapefruit, pineapple, orange. Light grassy notes round out the profile. Flavor is a bit muted as pale, lightly bready malts start to assert themselves. Medium to light bodied, moderate carbonation, light, refreshing bitterness and a clean finish.

Pour from a bottle gave a cloudy golden color with a moderate white head. Aromas of citrus and some yeast. Really great fresh lemon, pineapple, and grapefruit flavors. Hard to tell this is an IPL. Very easy to drink but without being too thin in body. Could make this a regular if I had access. Really liked it!

bottle, from wife’s coworker. Good aroma, sweet, citrusy, orange. Toasted malt, kind of almond like. little grassy, little peppery. Clean orange gold color, good head that faded quick. spotty lace, Bitter sweet flavor. medium body, creamy oily smooth body, bitter finish. Darn nice. Real smooth for something that has a nice bite about it. very drinkable, aroma and flavor equally enjoyable. good stuff from my old stompin’ grounds...
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 smm (15) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Aha! The TSA only smashed one of my bottles... Had this on tap at Lord Hobo in Boston and decided to bring some home.
Pours a nice hazy yellow with a bright thick head. Sweet citrusy aroma, fresh grass clippings, and a bit of tropical fruit.
Light bodied, crisp carbonation. Wonderful grassy, citrusy taste, hoppy bitter finish. So fresh, so clean. A bit of yeastyness.
A truly amazing lager.. Dances around on the tongue like a fresh west coast apa.. I remember a bit more fruity character on draft but it holds up really well in the bottle. (bottled aug 28, 2012)

Combines the aromas of pine and grapefruit with the lightness of a pils. It’s hazy orange like many stronger lagers. Perhaps only 65 BUs, but impossibly bitter for it’s crisp, light body. There are other hoppy lagers from various US brewers, but they always feel cheap. This one does not.

Jack’s Abbey does it again. They take a lager and transform it into something amazing. It looked and tasted like an IPA. Golden/orange hue with that sticky head. Big citrus hoppy nose. Fantastic.

Pours a nice clear golden color with a fluffy three finger white head... aromas are tropical fruit, floral, citrusy hop forward bomb. Smells ripe ! On the palate its full of the same... big flavors of pineapple citrus a touch of grapefruit and a bit of malt sweetness on the back of the mid-palate that all gets tweaked up a few notches by a creeping bitterness that overtakes the finish but remains clean and refreshing with no sign of stickiness. Great fresh IPA that puts a lot of other local New England IPA’s to shame..especially considering the price tag !
