COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoponius Union harmoniously combines lager yeast fermentation and West Coast IPA hops. Our India style Pale Lager is like a traditional IPA but with a twist - it’s fermented cold and aged for extended periods. A blend of classic American hops creates a huge tropical fruit and citrusy hop aroma. A dry finish accentuates the pleasant bitterness and hop profile. Hoponius Union uses locally sourced ingredients. OG 15.5 Plato

Aroma of a descent floral hop, but has a bit of the lager "foot" like smell as well. Taste is good but not great. Not sure if it is the hop profile I don't like or the lager base. I think it is the lager base. Doesn't seem to provide as much balance as the malty ale ipa. Some floral hop flavors but that foot taste of a lager is there as well. Ok but not my favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

hehe.. weird to see lager so hoppy. Weird but really nice. Huge citrus hop profile, bit floral/grassy thou nothing overpowered. Nice malt presence for balance. Sweetish with decent bitterness all the way. Bit dry finish. Pleasantly surprised by this brew. Must grab some more

Pours amber tone with well lasting frothy top, heavily hopped with aromatic US hops both aroma and flavor, still remains lager lightness of malt profile, a bit caramely, very light sweet, more hops oriented to me so could be a bit boring. I used to think that Strong Lager/Imperial Pils is more malty-sugary, yeasty, pungent but this one is lagered IPA style so this brew is weird in category but without doubt is super pleasant bitter electrified. Yes!

This is more IPA than Punk IPA is! Good IPA bitterness, while the overall lager feeling the same time. But IPA bitterness stay in the tongue middle as aftertaste. Nice light amberly-yellow colour with a small white cap.

Floral and piney notes. Clear, dark gold. Not much bite, not much hoppiness, drinkable, but too light for me today.

Bottle. Clear copper with a medium sized white head. Tropical fruits, citrus, light onion, light biscuit. Crisp, refreshing. Medium body, medium sweet and bitter, soft carbonation. Light bitter finish. Went down quick.

Hoppīgs lageris and gaistošu putu. Gaiša dzintara nokrāsa. Tā arī garšo, pēc def lāgera ar extra apiņiem.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a white head that dissapears quickly leaving great lacing. Aroma is sweet floral, citrus and hay. Body is medium, average carbonation, light sweet and medium bitter taste with the bitterness lasting through the long dry finish. Pretty good.

I never bought this in the original 4-pack, and like what must have been a lot of people, I grabbed a 6-pack when they switched formats. Immediately, I had a new beer to add to my favorites... and then perhaps a month later HU disappeared from the shelves. Sold out, they just can’t keep up with the demand! Well, now it’s back, thank goodness, and it is one fine and tasty brew. Tastes like a smooth, full bodied IPA, but it is a lager, a dream combo in my opinion.
