COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XPL (Extra Pale Lager) The hardest part about making new and exciting hoppy beers is sourcing the hops you need. Most hops are bought under contracts which are signed two or three years in advance. We occasionally get opportunities to acquire small quantities of specialty hops that are enough for one batch of beer, but no more. This beer allows us to feature hops that we would otherwise not be able to make use of.Our first release of Hopstitution XPL will be released Thursday, December 5th. It will feature three new experimental hops, HBC-344, HBC-291 and HBC-462.

Bottle from Table & Vine. Bright pale gold with dense fluffy white head and lotsa lace. Floral lemongrass aroma with hints of white bread. Incredibly clean crackery malts with mild tropical fruity sweetness. Clean medium fruity and herbal hop bitterness that lingers in the throat. Lively carbo. Practically impossible to put down.

Very pale straw colour with a thick white head. The nose is intensely hoppy and lemony. A bit of orange and a very bright zesty lean malt base. Clean and peppery with a bit of nice spiciness and a fresh tropical hop aroma. Juicy and tropical with a kiwi and white pepper finish. Super bright and clean. Awesome stuff.

Not a terrible beer for the first half of the bottle but then it fatigued my palate and became less enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Pours a golden color with a nice white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is lots of citrus and hops you’d expect from an IPA, or toned down a bit like a APA, but there’s also a distinct maltiness in the aroma. Flavor is hop forward but an undoubted huge maltiness, sort of a malt backbone but it’s so bready and prominent that it’s awesome. A crispness to it that even in a blind taste test would indicate to you this isn’t an IPA. My first really good pale lager.

Single bottle from DeBuca’s. A nice light clear golden brew with a huge frothy white head. Very nice carbonation. Bright citrus aromas. Flavor is well balanced with a good malty backbone with layers of citrus and spicy bitterness. Very smooth. Excellent!

Bottle - Pours golden, lightly hazy with a filmy off-white head. Nose is grainy, pale malt with oniony/garlic hops, and some citrus. Nice and pungent. Taste is the same, with lots of stinky hops, grainy malt, dry, with a bitter, lightly grassy finish. Medium-bodied, medium carbonation.
