COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seasonal; Autumn - Released in November.
This is an intensely hoppy and strong lager that we refer to as a Double India Pale Lager. Over four pounds of hops per BBL of New Zealand hops (Kiwi Hops) were used in progressively larger hop additions throughout the brewing process. Four kettle hop additions, whole leaf hops in the hop back, and multiple dry hop additions infuse an intense floral and citrusy aroma. No kiwifruit or kiwi birds were used in the production of this beer.

On tap at the Publick House - Pours hazy amber with a foamy white head. Nose is pungent hops--tropical fruit, grass, pine--with a grainy, lightly yeast malt base. Taste is more on the grass/pine side of things, wiht a bit of doughy yeastiness and more graininess. Medium and smoothly carbonated. Good but not great.

Bottle. Poured a nice golden color. Smell is very subdued with a little bit of floral aroma. Taste is similar - very light and the high ABV content is well-hidden. Overall I would’ve liked a little more bite from it.

bottle thanks to forcabrew. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold color. very large white head. nose is moderate berry like fruitiness. taste is initially bitter and clean. late in the finish the hop flavor kicks in and is interesting. Not sure about the south of the equator hops. enjoyable. no sign of alcohol. maybe a touch of sulfur. good. not great.

500 ml bottle thanks to WillRunForBeer. Pours a hazy gold color with a huge, rocky head that fades slowly and never completely goes away. Aroma is fairly intense, fresh cut grass, flowers, tropical fruit, grape skins, and kiwi. Taste is not a good as the aroma though. Ultra dry and very bitter. Kinda like chewing on flowers and fruit skins. Very foamy carbonation too. Definitely well made beer but I never really seem to enjoy the New Zealand hops ever. Just like this beer, I always love their aroma but not the taste.

Light straw color, plenty of white head and lace. Piney, earthy, spicy hops are a bit sharp. Dry as bone, finishes with a kiss of caramel. Well made, despite being not exactly my style.

500ml bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a hazy amber peach color which is uncharacteristic of Jack’s usual crystal clear lagers. Two fingers of stubborn off-white foam with a dollop of snow-white foam which forms on top as it settles down. Crazy lacing. This beer looks amazing. Aroma is pretty potent with heavy notes of New Zealand hops. Cantaloupe, mango, papaya, and a dank resinous finish with some fusel heat. The taste follows with bright and juicy mango and melons which fade into dank grass and grains in the aftertaste. A bit too boozy and bitter. Comes off a bit harsh as opposed to Jack’s usual crisp and clean lagers. This beer really does feel like it’s let go of it’s "lager’ness". As much as I love the New Zealand hop varietals, this beer just seems to dilute what makes these IPL’s so amazing. Still damn tasty, but not as drinkable and clean as the rest of their lineup.
