Seasonal; Autumn - Released in November.
This is an intensely hoppy and strong lager that we refer to as a Double India Pale Lager. Over four pounds of hops per BBL of New Zealand hops (Kiwi Hops) were used in progressively larger hop additions throughout the brewing process. Four kettle hop additions, whole leaf hops in the hop back, and multiple dry hop additions infuse an intense floral and citrusy aroma. No kiwifruit or kiwi birds were used in the production of this beer.

500ml bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a hazy amber peach color which is uncharacteristic of Jack’s usual crystal clear lagers. Two fingers of stubborn off-white foam with a dollop of snow-white foam which forms on top as it settles down. Crazy lacing. This beer looks amazing. Aroma is pretty potent with heavy notes of New Zealand hops. Cantaloupe, mango, papaya, and a dank resinous finish with some fusel heat. The taste follows with bright and juicy mango and melons which fade into dank grass and grains in the aftertaste. A bit too boozy and bitter. Comes off a bit harsh as opposed to Jack’s usual crisp and clean lagers. This beer really does feel like it’s let go of it’s "lager’ness". As much as I love the New Zealand hop varietals, this beer just seems to dilute what makes these IPL’s so amazing. Still damn tasty, but not as drinkable and clean as the rest of their lineup.

Bottle @ GT’s house. Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Really nice nose. Grapefruit, pine, biscuit, and peach. Good amount of orange in there, too. Flavor has some nice hops, but is quite bitter and a touch astringent. Grapefruit, orange rind, and lots of pine. Mild biscuit and a touch of booze.

Yes. This is the Lager that I have been looking for. The aroma is grapefruit and fresh-cut grass. The citrus and herbal flavors continue in the taste. The light-lager body and subtle carbonation are great. This is extremely flavorful and dangerously drinkable. I should buy a case.

Sampled @ Mass Brewers Fest @ Julio’s. Poured deep gold with a foamy white head. Strong hop forward aroma. Clears out the sinuses. Quite bitter with lots of hoppiness in the flavor. Some fruitiness and malt to the back end. Medium bodied with a bitter finish.

Tap. Pours hazy golden, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is kiwi(!), citrus, dank. Flavor is much the same, vaguely fruity, tropical, initial sweetness that dries out fast. Medium bitter. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Pretty tasty.

Bottle to glass. Bottled 4 days ago! Clean gold amber pour with a huge white head. Nose is very crisp; grass clippings, citrus, sweet hoppiness. Taste is sweet and earthy. Definitely very fresh hops going on here. Grass, grapefruit, citrus, earthy malt finish. Not overpowering bitter or sweet. Nice balance.
