COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy! May 2013 release.

Pours an organe color with a small head.

The aroma is smokey and mapley... sweet & rich with some nice woodiness and caramel.

The flavor is smoky and mapley. It’s got a light bitterness and a touch of oak character.

cool beer bro

Bottle... Mostly clear amber pour with flashes of orange and a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is straight-up, mouth-watering, applewood smoked bacon. Medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor is smoky, tangy and laced with sweet caramel. The aftertaste is medium-sweet and a touch smoky. Bottles courtesy of landhoney!

On tap into a tulip: Pours clear amber with a thin white head, good lacing. Aroma is caramel, maple syrup, and smoke. Taste is a bit sweet, but a lot of awesome. Lots of maple and rauchbier goodness. Medium body, slightly sticky mouthfeel, really tasty.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a small wispy off-white head. The nose is lightly smoky and sweet with maple sugar and caramel. The flavor is sweet and smoky with a nice clean lagered finish. I like the natural tasting maple syrup in here. The smokiness is not quite as intense as I’d like it, but it’s still pretty pleasant. Medium bodied and very smooth with nice soft carbonation level. Pretty excellent, smooth stuff.

Pours a murky golden-brown...almost like a cider. Very thin head...minimal lacing. Aromas of ash, sugar, oak, lagered yeast. Taste is very interesting, if not weird. Get a big mouthfull of smokey malts...then the maple comes forward. Tastes almost like bacon! Serious! I don’t hate it...but I can’t say that I love it. Finishes pretty decent, but just not my cup-o-beer. And, I like "weird" beers usually.

500ml to the face at my place by myself while watching battle star galactica in my pajamas after working until 8:00. Aroma is oak, maple, light BBQ smokiness that actually works, aroma is nice like bacon. Taste is super interesting, sticky, barbecue smoke, brown sugar, Munich malt, oak. I like it, it’s one of the most interesting lagers I have had.

Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some ashy smoke notes as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is made up of smoke, ash, light maple syrup and biscuit. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle date can’t be read. Pours murky amber with really no indication of carb, some soapy bubbles around the rim. Smells of malt, some smoke, a little plastic and oaky character. No maple in the nose for me. Flavor is sweet malts, smoke (not too overpowering), some tea, some mineral character. Maybe a bit thin with lower than appreciated carb with an off dry finish. Don’t really see what lawson’s added to the mix here, the smoke is well done, but the beer overall isn’t something I’m impressed with.

[Bottle (500ml) courtesy of Glouglouburp.] Pours a dark orange-copper with an average size diminishing frothy white head. No lacing. Nice aroma of smoke and maple syrup along with caramel malt and light wood. Smokey flavour along with light maple syrup, malt and a light bitter finish -- slightly watery but only slightly. Average to medium bodied. An enjoyable beer.
