This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy! May 2013 release.

Not a fan. Pours a hazy dark amber from a bottle with a quick-disappearing head. Aroma is slight creosote. Couldn’t detect maple at all. The wife says "Too much smoke, not enough maple".

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy smoke, light maple, and a touch of brown sugar. It pours a transparent amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a very fine ring. The flavor starts with brown sugar, light maple, and a touch of fruit. The finish has moderate smoke with a touch of caramel. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

Bottle: Thanks, Alex. Semi-cloudy copper & amber body with the fastest fading gray-tinted head on top. Thinnest collar leftover. Aroma of smoked wood, old campfire dust, charred caramel, faint maple, & some light earthiness underneath. Flavor is more smoky... Smoked malt, slightly sweet liquid smoke, & a mild campfire essence. Hints of prune, caramel, & charcoal. Maple is very hard to pick up in the flavor... Not much maple at all, really. Hint of overly toasted malt & slightly burnt, smoked wood in the finish.

Bottle thanks to the 2cool4skewl buffalo crew. Pours burnt Siena, slightly muddy, small white head. Pretty much meh followed by more meh. Slight smokey ness, but not much else character besides balance and pale malt. Medium body.

Pours an organe color with a small head.

The aroma is smokey and mapley... sweet & rich with some nice woodiness and caramel.

The flavor is smoky and mapley. It’s got a light bitterness and a touch of oak character.

Bottle... Mostly clear amber pour with flashes of orange and a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is straight-up, mouth-watering, applewood smoked bacon. Medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor is smoky, tangy and laced with sweet caramel. The aftertaste is medium-sweet and a touch smoky. Bottles courtesy of landhoney!

On tap into a tulip: Pours clear amber with a thin white head, good lacing. Aroma is caramel, maple syrup, and smoke. Taste is a bit sweet, but a lot of awesome. Lots of maple and rauchbier goodness. Medium body, slightly sticky mouthfeel, really tasty.
