Double IPL.
Two years into our brewery and we’re fueling the fires surrounding extremely hoppy beers. In celebration of our anniversary and in support of our fans, we’re brewing this extra hoppy Double IPL. Together, we have taken a journey to redefine the term ’lager.’ Prost! 17.5°

Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is hoppy like an IPA but the malts resemble a Pilsener or Marzen beer. Taste starts balanced, hoppy with dank and overripe fruit notes, but also malty with honey and bread notes. Aftertaste is more bitter. The alcohol is also present but doesn’t bother too much. A good combination between a lager and an IPA but it’s not really a style I enjoy too much.

This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a glossy yellow color with a nice looking subtle carbonation rising to fill a one finger lasting head. It eventually dies off into a film of a head. Nice filmy/almost semi-thick foaminess in the rings looked nicely. The aroma had some sweet grassy hops blending in with a little bit of spice smelling really nice. The taste was moderately sweet and bitter blending the hops with a low crisp to sweet malt consistency. There’s a nice crisp bready/lager aftertaste leading into a nice semi-sticky sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice sessionable feel. Carbonation feels low enough to allow a nice bitter to sweet feel on my tongue, nothing overly done, feels nice and crisp. Overall, good Imperial pale lager. I’d have again and would be a nice one with food.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clearish yellow, small white head. Nice aroma of honey, florals, slight mango, corn. Goes down like a lager, grassy, a bit of a surprise without intense malts balancing the impressive hops. Decent though.

Definite a head spinner. Just one. But otherwise unremarkable ipl. Yes it's bushy in the front but I cannot differentiate the hops. Just blah. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This has changed my opinion of lagers. A wonderful hoppy aroma. Pours very light yellow color. Taste is initially very light but with a very hoppy finish-pine, grass and citrus notes. A nice crisp plate as well.

Hazy yellow, medium white head. Nose is citric and fruity. Tastes get more complex, well balanced between the fruity notes (apricot, grapefruit) and the high bitterness. Smooth and hoppy, booze very well hidden. Excellent ale!

Pours a clear amber from a bottle, good lacing. Dank smelling tropical fruit, concentrated mango sauce with honey, a little savory element somehow. Very good beer.

355ml bottle (Stadin Baar)
Rich pale malt aroma, a little dusty. Pale orange, small tight head, quite brief. Pleasant light grains, a little bitter, slightly sweet, spicy hops. Slightly sweet feel on the tongue, pleasant carbation. A bit too sweet, but a pleasant strong lager. Does cover the alco quite well.

355ml bottle @ Stadin Panimobaari. Mfg 01/09/15. Pours orange with a smooth head. Aroma of not so fresh grassy hops, malts, caramel, toffee, bready notes and earthiness. Taste is sweet, stuffy and malty with some aged grassy hoppiness. Finish is sweet, sticky and stuffy with loads of aged hops and grassy notes. Would like to try this one again from a fresh bottle.
