4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2014 Solid take on craft beer staple. Great citrus aroma and just a tad more bitter than you might expect. I don?t get many opportunities to drink lagers, but this may be my favorite. Jack?s Abby has really perfected their craft. Highly recommend for a different take on the India Pale.

On tap at pro pig, pours clearish golden with medium lace. For a pilsner this jawn is nice and hoppy with some grapefruit and diesel. A little bit of sweet malting but mostly pretty dry and hoppy for a pilsner.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: Golden in color. Nice foamy white head that lingers. Great lacing.
S: Smell is amazing. Huge aroma citrus, tropical fruit, some peach, apricot with some malt coming through.
T: Nice citrus grapefruit right up front, then a little tropical fruit taste. Has a good malt backbone and has a solid base. Some sweetness but not much, overall pretty dry the way I like. On the back end it has some bitterness on the finish with some pine resin notes.
M: Light and mostly dry. It’s really crisp and would enjoy on a nice summer day.
O: A really nice beer. I wish I got this around here to get regularly.

Mellow warmth to finish, some juicy melon, grapefruit, light pine resins, tangerine, a bit of rindy bitterness. Solid.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint.9 poured into a large ommengang stemmed glass. Pours a cloudy powder yellow, with orange and marmalade hightglights. Head is substantial, fluffy and pure white, a few inches high and lacing is profound as well. Aroma of orange spice, melon, floral qualities, hops, and sunflower, and pine. Taste is crisp, fresh and very ipa like, although this is a lager, hops, grapefruit, citrus melodies wiht orange, melon, apple, pineapple, mango, and a nice laid back but frontal hop presence, quite nice. Drinkability is exceptional, with the easing of the one coming through the soft and crisp hop malt balance, carbiantion is moderate, theres a bitter aftertaste, some what dry, but very refreshing. Glad I picked this one up. 2nd anniversary lager rather than Mass rising.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz. bottle. It pours a pretty clear light gold color with a nice, lasting white head. The aroma is has lots of citrus, floral and lightly piney hops. The flavor is intensely hop forward with grapefruit, pine and lighter notes of honey, apricot and crackers. It has a strong floral and piney finish. To be honest, this reminds me of Pliny the Elder a little bit. It’s that good.
