Bottle from Vaaland, Bryne. Pours hazy dark golden with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is malty with distinct rye and citrussy hops. Taste is dry, rye grainy, weak spicy, lovely beer for the low abv. Great pale ale!

Bottle from Pioppi’s. Pours out a light copper color with a huge frothy head that sticks around a long time. Good light hoppy-malty aromas and flavors. Easy drinking. Lingering light roasty flavors with some pepper notes.

I appreciate what Jack’s Abby is trying to do here, and to an extent they are successful, but the beer is watery. However, it has that slight rye spice to it and some pretty decent hop notes. It’s sessionable.

Medium sized off wite head with fair retention and clingy lace. Lightly hazy copper hued brew. Nicely spicy nose, citrusesque with clean, grainy malts. Body is light as is the carbonation, hint oily. Dry malt flavors, lightly spicy rye notes along with some grass and leafy notes, bready. Fairly dry and spicy finish, clean. Props to WillRunForBeer for the bottle.

KyotoLefty (6695) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 24, 2014
Bottle from the brewery. Dark amber to brown. Rich, malty nose, spicy rye, some chocolate, grassy, citrus hops. Light and crisp, with grainy malts and rye, slightly spicy, some chocolate, well hopped. Very rich and malty for its low ABV, and perfectly balanced. Very nice session lager.
