COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cloaked in mystery, this dark black beer skirts the line between a schwarzbier and smoked porter. The use of a small percentage of traditional Beechwood smoked malt adds complexity and balances the liberal use of chocolate malt. Notes of roasted grains, beechwood smoke and coffee accompany a full bodied and sweet chocolatey malt character. Smoke & Dagger uses locally sourced ingredients. OG 14.5 Plato

A bit dissapointing. Grainy smokey and barnyard? Tastes off to me in a strange un-jacks abby way. A rare off beer from a fantastic brewery.

Pours a rich dark brown with full creamy foamy head Nose is roasted dark chocolate, just a hint of smokey malt Wow what a unique taste combo. Tingly hops with a touch of smoke and a big bold chocolate/coffee flavor. Roasty and rich like a nice porter, but a lighter mouth feel. Almost could use a tiny bit more smoke, but this is one of the most thirst quenching smoked beers I've ever tasted ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle in a lager glass. Pours brown with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of some dark and smoked malts, but also toasted and caramel notes and light floral hops. Flavor a nice blend of the smoked and other styles of malts. Average texture. A pretty good beer for this style.

500ml bottle, i think .. . pours a deep brown black .. . light foam, light lacing .. . light roast and sweet tar, smoke? i don’t get any - to call this a smoked beer is like calling a tree a doorknob.. .. nice beer but to call it a smoked is a stretch .. . . Don’t forget, tip your pronouncers.

Bottle. Black pour with whitish head. Aroma is a bit meaty, lots of roast malt, very light smoke. Toasted grain flavor, subtle smokiness, chocolate. Palate is nice and fluffy, pretty dry. Good beer.

Surprisingly, this beer doesn’t have much of an aroma. Thick, sticky texture with very soft carbonation. Dark, roasty, a little bitter, with a hint of chocolate. Pretty light on the smoke - I would have preferred a lot more. I also think more hops would have drawn out the flavor and given it more depth. The palate is fine, but the flavor was a bit of a letdown.

pour is dark black with a tan head and some larger bubbles. Nose is light malt and chocolate notes with a light grain and herbal hop. Taste is a good, full flavored dark chocolate and light roast to it. Stout like favors with a lighter body and grainy hoppy finish. Dry clean finish and well carbonated.
