Cloaked in mystery, this dark black beer skirts the line between a schwarzbier and smoked porter. The use of a small percentage of traditional Beechwood smoked malt adds complexity and balances the liberal use of chocolate malt. Notes of roasted grains, beechwood smoke and coffee accompany a full bodied and sweet chocolatey malt character. Smoke & Dagger uses locally sourced ingredients. OG 14.5 Plato

Interesting. A bit of smoke flavor, some coffee as well, all underneath an herbal taste I can’t quite place. Not bad.

12oz bottle from TRT. Poured a deep dark chocolate brown, almost black, under a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of light smoke, chocolate pudding, dark toast, cake batter. Medium to full body, average carbonation. Flavor isnt quite as food as the aroma, a bit subdued and less chocolatey with mote dark grains. Solid none the less.

Pours clear cola-brown-to-black with a creamy, 1-finger tan head. Mild aroma of smoked malt with a touch of wood. Body is a bit lighter than medium. Slightly watery with a brief finish. Flavor of caramel malt mixed with some coffee. A bit of smoke at the back that lingers in the finish.

Smooth, smoky aroma. Smoky malt, toast, and an earthiness. Hints of woody flavors as well. Very smooth finish.

Bottle from Saveur-Biere.com - Color: deep dark black beer with small carbonation and small brown head. Smell: oat domination. Notes of wheat. Smoked finish. Taste: lack of palate, oat taste, smoked malt and good bitterness. Easy drinkable. Aftertaste: malt and sweet smoked finish. Not my style.

Pours a murky brown with small head and no lacing. Moderate smoke and chocolate aroma. Mild sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with moderate, almost effervescent carbonation. Medium smoked finish. Good beer.

Draft at pony bar HK with Brendan. Pours a deep Guinness body with thick white head. Aroma is light roast, milk/lactose and deep round malt. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with notes of chocolate milkshake, round malt and soft smoke/roast.

Easily the best beer I’ve had in awhile. Pours brown with reddish hues. Aroma of smoke, roasted malt, and caramel. Roasted malt, coffee, and caramel flavor with just a hint of smoke. Very nice beer!

Excellent beer. The deScription is spot on, this is right there between schwarzbier and smoked porter. The smokiness is so well done it melds with , doesn’t dominate the somewhat creamy sweet, light coffee malt character. The lagering keeps it clean and sharp at the finish. More please.
