COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cloaked in mystery, this dark black beer skirts the line between a schwarzbier and smoked porter. The use of a small percentage of traditional Beechwood smoked malt adds complexity and balances the liberal use of chocolate malt. Notes of roasted grains, beechwood smoke and coffee accompany a full bodied and sweet chocolatey malt character. Smoke & Dagger uses locally sourced ingredients. OG 14.5 Plato

Pours dark brown with tan head. Roasted malt, smoky wood aroma with chocolate and light coffee. Roasted malt with some smoky woody flavors followed with a sweet caramel and chocolate flavor. Finishes roasted coffee flavors and a dry woody flavor and some smokiness. Really great roasty brew. Another great offering from Jack’s Abby.

Black cola color. Smooth roasted aromas. Thin body and not so full taste. Nice refreshing beer. For what it is, its very good.

Very deep black with tinge of red. Has a smokey roasted chocolate aroma. Sweet roasted smoke taste with sweet finish. Only leaves a slight roasted taste. The smokiness only stays a little and then leaves a refreshing feeling.

McWorta (661) - LUXEMBOURG - NOV 21, 2014
Deep ruby red brown clear colour with a fading tan head. On the nose aromas of lightly roasted malt predominates with hints of chocolate and faintly wood notes. The texture is lively and surprisingly light - medium bodied. The beer offers flavours of light sweetness and a hint of roast bitterness. The chocolate and roasted malt comes out clear and the smoke comes good after a brief moment. Well balanced and palatable. The finish is lightly sweet and lasting well.

Creamy light brown head. Hazy dark brown color. Aroma, smoky (Well duh!) malty/roasty. Taste, smoky although not overly so, caramel. Pretty dry. I like this level of smokyness.
