COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caution! This is an intensely smokey lager similar to those found in Bamberg, Germany. Most of this brew’s malt was dried over flaming beechwood, which ingrains unique smokey flavors. A large proportion of Munich malts were used to create a Fest style beer with amber hue. We used specially smoked barley from Valley Malt. Prost!

nice clear light amber/orange color. aroma is all the smokey beechwood. very noticable not much else detected. flavor is pretty smooth, some spices, carmal, maple, the sweet body mixed very well with the deep smokey taste with each sip. great beer, flavor wouldnt be as impressive alone without the smoked malts. plan on purchasing this one again soon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Served in a taster: Thanks Oirschot crew: Small creamy ish head. Beautiful hazy orange coloredz Aromas of smoke, ash, coal, smoked wood, light liquor and some smooth tints like barley wine. Flavours of smoke, bitters, malts, some wood smoke, hint of smoked tea herbs and some smoked herbs. Aftertaste is bitter, malty, smokey and some herbal smoked tones. Low carbo, soft close to silky mouthfeel, more than medium bodied and a light creamy light watery light dry texture.

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Not overly intense, familiar smoky aroma, hints of beechwood, ham etc. Taste is caramel malty, smoky, bitter hoppy middle part, moderately sweet, smoky finish. Resembles the well known Bamberg icons concerning the smoke flavours (which can also be described in negative way: no peat, no TCP, etc.), but stays behind concerning intensity and richness.

Bottle to pint glass. Lots of smoke in the nose and taste. The marzen style is really well executed. Great example of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours darker copper in color with a whitish head. Grainy notes, bit of burnt wood and smoke, bread and sweetness in aroma. Nice. Smoke and hints of bitterness in taste at first, feels a bit like sitting at the campfire. Later on subtle sweet maltyness appears, but is gently overrun by the nice, quite soft smokyness. A good take on the Rauchbier style.

Single bottle from DeBuca’s. A light brownish amber with a frothy light tan head. Wonderful smoky-malty aromas. Body is on the lighter side. Flavor is slightly sweet with a well-defined smokiness. Low hopping. Quite good.
