Amber pour with a white head. Sweet malt, caramel, and a light alcohol note. Some pine, grapefruit, orange peel, and maybe some pineapple. Light grass on the finish. The flavor is somewhat sweet with some caramel notes. Light sweetness of pineapple, some grapefruit, and a very light pine bitterness.

Bistro’s DIPA Fest, Hayward, CA. deeper copper color, another that just seems borderline IPA/IIPA. didnt seem like 8.5%, but my palate was probably already destroyed at this point. Nice bitter flavor, good malt backbone, light tea notes, liked it

This is one of the more solid beers that I tried at Jack’s in San Ramon. Malty, hoppy, stick, it’s a well done double IPA

Pours a dark orange amber with a light tan head. The nose and flavor are a bit too subtle, but not off in any way. Light citrus, caramel and pine with a medium full mouthfeel. Very clean, but I wish Will the brewer would push the envelope a bit, as it seems he has the talent to pull off some great beer, not just solid ones.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2010 Wow after years of begging and the hiring of a new brewer Jack’s finally made a double IPA. I love their IPA and I knew their new their double would be good, and it is. In a nutshell it’s a bigger hoppier tastier version of their IPA. Deeeelicious!! On par with Pizza Port IPA’s A must try beer.....but it’s only on tap like all their beers. I had it again tonight 5-7-10 awesome beer! So tasty! Malty IPA! Get some!
