500 ml bottle in Germany. Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is malt, alcohol, nuts and swetness, Taste is well sweet malt, but with little else. Palate is mellow with some spelling errors since I have had enough today. Anyway not bad at all.

courtesy of Philipp and Thomas - clear ruby-brown colour with a poor gead retention; sweet malty aroma with notes of caramel; full-bodied and pretty sweet, low bitterness and with a long caramelish and malty finish with light grassy notes

Bottle by 19.10.12. Nose of plum and grape, toffee and light roast, just lots of rich, sticky malt. Ruby-amber body with a rocky tan head. Taste is sweet with mild fruit, focus more on the toffee and caramel, roast with medium bitterness for balance, hops are subtler but the bitter-drain at the end is strong. Earth and dark chocolate, nutty with light booze.

Bottled 50cl. Clear deep amber with a small head. Sweet. Malt accented. Warming on the swallow. Low carbonation. Not much bitterness. Caramel and raisins throughout. Full bodied. Hints of fennel and alcohol. Some residual sugars in the finish which is malty, grassy and slightly metallic, alcoholic. Without major flaws and very true to the style.

pivnizub (7240) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - OCT 7, 2011
Bottle: Reddish-amber to copper coloured, relatively stable fluffy off-white head, moderate sweet-fruity (the usual suspects) and caramelly nose, distinctive nutty traces included; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, only medium bodied; traces of alcohol in the sweet caramelly-fruity finish, followed by some bitterness in the aftertaste. O.K., but not the finest Doppelbock.....

500 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.
Dark reddish brown colour with small to average size light tan head. Malt, cardemon, bread and mild sweetness in aroma. Strong darkish malt, mild hops, bread and some sweetness and spices in flavour. Quite okay but Doppelbocks ain’t my cup of tea.
