Cask Stillage at the Assembly Rooms, Derby Beer Festival 11/07/2008 Lots of malt aroma. Dark coloured fruity spicy and a little rich on the palate with some dryness in a crisp and bitter full malt finish.

Dark, dark brown with a red hue. No head. Roast aroma, wood, burned toffee. Sweet and roast flavour with a woody dryness to it.

Clearish cola coloured. Medium light tan head. Earthy and minty, herbal nose where cola notes rise up amongst minerally and greenish, wooden undertones. Undefined fruitiness is there all along, perhaps pear-like. It never goes too sweet while developing its liquorice-like flavours. Not the biggest blockbuster, but well built ale.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear dark brown color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, notes of oak and licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Cask@GBBF2007. Dark ruby colour, mediumsized brown head. Big malty and roasted aroma along with some caramel and fruits. Flavour is very much the same with some bigtime raisins also kicking in.

Cask conditioned at Brecon Beer Festival, Castle Hotel, Brecon, Powys. Dark brown with malt head. Sweetish full flavoured beer, particularly fruity malty, more a mild in my view than a stout. Some licorice with a touch of treacle, moorish.

Cask gravity at Reading BF. Very dark brown, bubbly beige head. Liquoricey stout. Some choc in mouth, bit too sour liquoricey for me. Fairly intense aroma, not my kinda thing though.

Gravity Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 07. Slightly sweet vanilla and toffee. Very mild roastiness. Sweetish stout not especially drinkable.
