3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dorqui (1768) - Brescia, ITALY - DEC 10, 2004
Red color shining a lot fizzy. Compact foam. Aspect much limpid one. The cherry scent is indeed intense and wrapping, much perfumed and delicate. It seems to be a fizzyjuice. Unusual but decidedly good.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hunsell (400) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 20, 2004
Quite good for a commercial ’kriek’, pleasant non-chemical aroma, sweet, but not sugary, only very limited sourness.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bov (8158) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 11, 2004
3.2% version - one more beer from this crazy cherry juice trend ... - clear reddish in colour, giant unregular and pinky head, nice lacing, strong nose of cherry-sweeties with notes of wet haye, very sweet, slightly sourish, the finish is long and shows more chery notes - a bit cloying due to an excessive sweetness; I’m not convinced
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (26244) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 4, 2004
A red beer with a small collapsing pink head. The aroma is sweet with notes of cherries. The flavor is also sweet with strong flavors of cherries, but only hints of sourness, before a slightly dry finish sets in.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hildigöltur (5106) - København, DENMARK - JUN 29, 2004
Very red coloured. Not too artificial cherry aroma. Nice flavour with quite some sourness and acidity for a commercial kriek. Surprisingly good.
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MartinKubert (862) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 29, 2004
Beautiful red colour with a milky white head. Extreme, almost artificial, aroma of marzipan and cherry. Very sour flavour of citrus and sour cherries. Sweet and sour palate.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 bierkoning (8951) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JUN 6, 2004
Somewhat artificial cherry aroma. Sweet with a strong cherry flavor. I can even taste cherry pits and dust, like in a real (oude) kriek. Better as expected.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 leaparsons (7069) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2004
Ruby red, almost blood like. Aromas are cherry so stong that you can smell it a street away with the bottle still unopened. Phew. Cherries are again to the fore in flavour, cherry drop sweets to be more precise. This is packed full of flavour, even if those flavours are a little artificial. Strangely enjoyable.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Frank (2188) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 1, 2003
Bright red. Bright pink head. Intricate bits of lace. Smells and tastes like cherry juice with a very slight tang. Still, despite its simplicity, I can't help but like it.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bartV (3) - woking, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2003 does not count
Good attempt to launch a sweet cherry beer to compete with alcopops. However, to my opinion too sweet and the flavour is far too 'bubblegum' for competing in the real cherry beer category.
