Something like this really blurs the line between beer and some other product entirely but still it is interesting, very red, with pink head, very clear, small full bubbled flow. Nose is tart cherries, palate is tingly, tart, then thicker and sweeter. Quite a pleasing palate. Finishes dry. Taste is sweet cherry.

11.2oz bottle. Clear ruby color w/a pale lavender head. Tart cherry aroma. Sweet & sour cherry taste w/lactic hints. Less sweet vs Lindemans, refreshing, but not as complex or sour than lambics. Full-body and medium carbonation.

Appearance Pours a clear red, with a tiny white head that dissipates within seconds
Aroma Cherries, almonds, and red berries. No funk and otherwise a bit lacking in complexity
Taste Hints of lactic tartness, but generally quite sweet
Palate Medium body, fairly high carbonation, mild aftertaste
Overall A refreshing and easy kriek, but, as mentioned, a bit lacking in complexity and tartness

Thanks to the cousins. Tart but not tart+funk. More refreshingly tart. Sweeter than expected but not medicinal. Not complex but nice. Serving: Bottle

Tart, but not overly so. Some wild cherry-like flavor. Wish that it had some more depth, but very tasty none-the-less.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2015 Bottled as kriek des jacobins. Aroma is an almost cough syrup cherry with a woody complex sour. Taste is woody dark fruit with a nice cherry flavor on top of it. Not sweet cherry but feels like cherry juice added and then aged in barrels with sugars fermented away. Lactic sour maybe 5 of 10. Has lots of notes of cuvee des jacobins base, but not as complex or woody, and the cherry juice actually detracts from the jacobins base. Not to say this is bad, it is still a great and enjoyable sour, but cuvee is exceptional. Also this is definitely more of a sour red/brown than a lambic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours ruby-tinged mahogany into a tumbler. Pink micro head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Dark cherry aromas. Sweet cherry upfront turning to unpleasant bitter pith in the dry, medium length finish.

Pours a deep reddish maroon with a small pink head in a snifter at home. Aroma is strong cherry, somewhat medicinal cough syrup extract. Taste is similar with powerful cherry but a little too sweet with offset finish of tart cherries. Flavor isn’t bad but the sweetness is powerful. Medium body, low to med carb.
