Superbly syrupy cherry bliss from a bottle. May be the best mass-market Belgian kriek (excepting the oh-too-precious Boon varieties). Thoroughly drinkable, great balance of sweetness and tartness.

When you sample this beer you have to ask yourself ’Do I like the somewhat artificial, jelly-bean-like aroma’
We disussed it wildly when we we tried it.
As you can see in omhper´s rating he didn´t. As you can see from mine , I did.
The beer is red with good offwhite head.
The aroma is huge and loaded with jellybeans and maraschino cherries. The flavor is sour, almost bitter with cherries, perfume and almonds. I think it is world class.

Bottle at the Barton Arms, Birmingham. Vinegar, earthy aroma and a deep ruby colour with a persistent pink head. Enjoyable, lively flavour, full of woody notes, tartness, cherry and vinegar. Always interesting from start to finish.

Light tan/pink medium size head over crystal clear cherry pink colour. Small polka dot lace pattern on glass. Faint natural ripe cherry, marzipan, and perfumed soap aroma with a hint of fresh doughy yeast. Medium sour start with added bitter / sweet / yeasty complexity that will suit discerning beer drinkers but may wrinkle the noses of the afternoon tea set. Refreshing dry bitter finish. Recommended as a different and interesting kriek.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rane (709) - Nibe, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2007
Bottle. Red beer with red big head. Aroma very dominated by cherries. Taste sweet in the beginning, then sour with cherry taste. Maybe a little one sided, but I like the style.

Draught
Bright red, small cherry head, lots of nice red lace. Sour cherry aroma. Sweet cherry flavor with sour carbonated mouthfeel with a pleasant sweetish aftertaste. Close to Lindemans Kriek.

a sim rate:
(on tap at Lowlander) As krieks go, it’s glorious. Aroma of cherry drops... liquified. A bit of apple in the aroma and flavour. Thick and smooth.Alcohol in the finish which dissipates quickly with strange flavour of penicilin.

[Draft at The Evening Star, Brighton] A red beer with a small pink head. The aroma is sweet and totally dominated by cherries, and so is the flavor. No real sourness detected anywhere.

Somewhat artificial... If you actually love the taste of cherry liquour, then go for it!
