7th May 2010. Copenhagen Beer Festival. Big thanks to Yespr for getting me on to this beer. Opaque brown beer. Light soft palate. Light chocolatey malt with a sublte amout of mint. A little bit milk tray like. Nice!

750 ml bottle. Pitch black body with a big, creamy beige head. A beat weak aroma of roasted coffee, pine and spices like ginger and mint (of course). Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, balanced bitter and a delicate hint of mint. This beer is remarkable well balanced, nice flavored and easy drinkable.

Courtesy of Holger. Sweet cafe latte aroma with further notes of dark chocolate. The flavour is sweet cocoa and coffee with a bit of mint. Too thin though for an 8 % sweet stout.

Bottled, served at the Carlsberg Visitor Center. Pours a very deep dark brown colour with a medium fairly well lasting beige head. Aroma of spices, coffee and mint with roasted malt. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, mint and chocolate. Nice sweet stout indeed.

Ølfestival Horsens 2006. It’s an almost black stout with a nice, big head. The coffee is pronounced in both aroma and flavour, and in the second sip, I also notice the mint - and togehter with the sweetness they meet in a perfect harmony. A different and nice stout. 1677

Bottle at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Almost black. Plenty of flavour. The mint and the coffee are both obviously there- perhaps a bit more coffee than mint. At first I wasn’t too sure that they combined too well but this beer grew on me after a couple of sips. I’m not sure I’d call it a marriage made in heaven but it certainly wasn’t the inappropriate clash that I anticipated. Despite being listed as a sweet stout, I didn’t find it very sweet at all. Interesting and quite appealing.

courtesy of Papsoe - black coloured with a little beige foam; solid mocha aroma with a hint of mint; good malt body, some sweetness and a long aftertaste of chocolate with glorious fresh mint notes - really underrated
