Exellent beer for a danish herring course. Dill in aroma and flavor and a lightness from the wheat. Though with some malt body Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 5, 2007 Bottled. A slightly hazy light golden beer with a huge fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of coriander and citrus. The flavor is sweet malty and wheaty with strong notes of citrus, and dill, as well as lighter notes of cloves. The mouthfeel is very smooth and the alcohol just makes its presence known on the palate and gives it a good body. Too much dill in the flavor for my liking - more interesting as an experiment than really good. As the beer gets warmer the dill notes grow in intensity - and gets cloying. I think it might be good together with a Danish open faced sandwich with a hering in dill. larsniclas (2794), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 28, 2007 Sampled at SBWF, 2007.
Hazy golden with a firm, white head.
Sweet and stale with weird flavour from dill. Too much alco-flavour. Grovlam (2984), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 5, 2007 Bottle @ Jacobsen Brewhouse. Large fizzy white head that mostly lasted. Light cloudy golden / orange color. Fair display of lacework. Heavy aroma of dill and hint of salt. Citrus, coriander, wheat and some light floral notes as well. Medium bodied with a light dry texture and an average carbonation. Light to moderated bitter flavor with light sweet and a hint of acidic. Light dry and bitter finish. rlgk (3011), Motala, Sweden Oct 4, 2007 (Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Bottle. Pale yellow, big white head. Yeasty, bready wheat aroma. Wheat flavor and dill. Why dill?
