2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. A clear, dark amber beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is quite malty, with caramel, some cooked vegetables and a little bready hint. It’s effervescent on the palate, full-bodied and almost sticky. Dried fruits, bread, nuts, caramel and a generic maltyness in the flavor. Lasting caramel finish with a touch of bread and bitterness. Well, I’d certainly expect more than this from a bock from Jacobsen. 140418

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2014 Pours a beautiful dark copper with a thick white head, that however disappears quickly. Aroma is grassy hops and some sweet malts. Taste is liqourice, metallic and some sweet malts, but not impressive body for a bock. Carbonation is pleasant. Low bitterness and not as much warmth as in other bocks.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Low fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Clear golden body. Bitter sweet malt grass aroma. Malt caramel grass flavour without the expected high bitterness. Low carbonation. Short dry finish. A bit of a disappointment as I had expected more from a beer with this relatively high alcohol percentage.
