COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Et hundrede år efter at Carlsberg´s grundlægger Carls Jacobsen donerede statuen af den Lille Havfrue til København, er der brygget en øl til at markere denne lejlighed. Mermaid Porter er tjæresort med god fylde og et skum så kraftigt, at man skulle tro selveste Vestenvinden havde blæst det op. Øllet dufter indbydende af friskbagte beskøjter, tovværk og skippers nystoppede snadde. Smagen er rig på varme, malt og lakridsagtig bitterhed. Mermaid Porter er brygget til ære for Den Lille Havfrue udført af billedhuggeren Edvard Eriksen. Det var bryggeren Carl Jacobsen som fik ideen til statuen og det var takket være hans gavmilde donation, at Den Lille Havfrue kunne præsenteres for offentligheden d. 23. august 1913. Ingredienser: brygget af bygmalt, rugmalt, havregryn, hvedemalt, rørsukker, salturt, østers, humle og gær. Flaskens indhold svarer til 5 genstande. Alkohol styrke 10%. Mermaid Porter sælges i en gaveæske med 2 x 0,75 l. øl.

Clear dark brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, wbeige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, wood, dark roasted, light chocolate, light coffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, dark chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20131012]

From tap at Ørsted Ølbar. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malty, chocolate. Liqourice to salty flavoured. Liqourice and rich chocolate. Bitter and dark malty. Lingering chocolate and light salty finish.

RBESG pt 18. Moncada. Grand Tasting. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and dry, fine carbonation. Rich brown malts, touch of dark chocolate. Light spice and tangy fruits. Light dry finish. Spicy linger. It’s fine.

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Grand Tasting - Moncada Brewery. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Good stuff, with pleasant smoke, chocolate, well roasted malts, some dirt. Great balance. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nice chocolate notes on the finish, minimal alcohol warmth, quick roast. Again, nicely balanced beer. Solid.
