COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Original Dark Lager is brewed according to J.C. Jacobsen’s original recipe. The colour is chestnut. It has a Hersbrucker hop aroma while the floor malted Munich malt adds a caramel character. The carbonisation is gentle and the hop bitterness is soft. Enjoy at 6-8º.

Bottled: Dark amber coloured. Clear. Huge dense light browwn head. Aroma of butter, sweetness, light caramel. Flavour is downtoned. Light caramel, malt, fruit. Is quite thin bodied. Ends on a fruity note. This is no match to the even ordinary Czech and German dunkels.

This beer has no elegance whatsoever. Very malty and sweet. It lacks diversity and other ingredients than malt. Boring watery finish.

Hmm.. this is very boring. Tastes like cheaper beer. It lacks complexity and malt. And surprise, surprise: head is fizzy and gone in a couple of seconds.

(on bottle) So this should be the original Carlsberg Beer? Well, guess people needed it, to prevent getting infections of the citywells or something. Today it´s bland. Mild fig-lke flavour, with a hint of molasses in the finish. Small carbonation.

Bottle. Malty, Schwarzbierlike aroma. Clear brown colour. Soft and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit malty, I guess, but nothing out of the ordinary. Citric aftertaste.
