Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 6, 2006 A slighlty hazy orange-red beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of brewmash and grain as well as fruits and hay. The flavor is very sweet with notes of grain, caramel, and a slight burnt note - as if the caramel as if the caramel spent a bit too long time over the fireplace. The burnt note gives the beer a dry end. Down the middle of the road Dunkel - nothing special - nothing wrong. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 1, 2006 [Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival] Clear amber, brief head. Fairly light bodied with some rya and bread. Firm but clean mouthfeel, near no bitterness. Fairly decent, but dull. Presents itself as something fancy when it’s really only a half baked dunkel. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 25, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) This is Jacobsens attempt at recreating the Carlsberg Bavarian lager - the original Carlsberg Lager, predating it’s pilsner. Very dark amber with a pretty, reddish glow and a small off-white head. The malt dominate this all the way through, in the aroma yes, but more distinctly in the flavour. Lovely roasted malt with notes of lightly sweet caramel. Very discreet bitterness. Quite delicate. 010705 yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 1, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy brown/amber with a lacing head. Slight roasted caramel malt. Malty and woody flavour, dry raisin. Dry malty finish with a lasting fruity note.
