7th May 2010. Copenhagen Beer Festival. Big thanks to Yespr for getting me on to this beer. Clear light gold beer. Supersweet porty malt with a little spice buried in there. Definitely a dessert beer. Warming afterglow. A simply marvelous beer. Would love to try the fully barrel aged version.

Slightly hazy pale beer with a small, white head. Fruity white wine and malt aroma. Big and sweet, vineous malt flavour. A little too sweet, but amazingly complex beer with a character like white sherry. Such a pale barleywine is really something unique

On tap at KØ-10. It’s a clear almost golden beer, a big white head rests on top. The aroma is vinous, with a nice hoppy twist. Alcohol and some vanilla too. The vanilla in both aroma and flavor is a bit surprising as the beer is supposed to never have met any barrel. There’s some white sugar in the flavor, along with the alcohol and hops, but not much bitterness. Full-bodied and sticky-sweet. Sweet, vinous finish. The dessert wine of beers! 100506

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Golden body with a big, white head. Aroma is fruity with sweet malt and pleasant alcohol. Flavor is Sweet malt, fruity, white sugar and warming alcohol. It does not feel special bitter, but there is something besides the alcohol to balance the massive sweetness. It’s quite nice actually.

Draft. A yellow beer with no head. The aroma has notes of malt, hay, fruit, and acidic apples. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, and acidic apples. The alcohol burns in the throat and the mouthfeel is thick.

On tap. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a small white head. Fairly sweetish malty and fruity aroma but subdued and subtle, a little alcohol up there too. Very full-bodied, sugary and syrupy, fruit and honey with a lightly sparkling carbonation and a warming alcohol finish. 070510
