An artisanal style IPA combining midly bitter hops, garden fresh jalapeno peppers and cilantro. With a moderate malt profile, this culinary concoction offers both an easy drinking IPA & a bowl full of jalapenos without the burn or bittering one might expect. Never would Scoville have imagined such a fitting match for the world’s perfect pepper.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2014 On tap half pint at Gilly’s Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD. Hazy, rusty amber with a khaki head and very good lacing. Fairly mild aroma of jalapeño, rye bread, vegetables and hops. Taste of mild jalapeños, bread, caramel, orange and pine. Medium body and medium carbonation. Rather easy to drink for a hot pepper beer. The jalapeño flavor is there in force, but the heat is well toned down and balanced by a malty sweetness. Nice hop flavors occasionally escape from the background, but never yield much bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft. Aroma of pepper. Tastes like vegetable stock, jalapeños with a slightly sweet citrus hop finish. Somewhat soapy on the palate. Sounds like it shouldn’t work, but it does.

Growler straight from the brewery. A slightly hazy copper pour with a thick & fluffy beige head. The well-balanced aroma features some caramel, a biscuity breadiness, some herbs, zesty citrus, and spicy jalapenos. Goes down relatively medium-bodied. Light caramel upfront taste-wise. Kinda biscuity in the middle. Citrus and a big peppery bite at the end. Just a tad doughy throughout. The jalapenos are a nice complement to the standard IPA flavors and never dominate or overwhelm.
