An artisanal style IPA combining midly bitter hops, garden fresh jalapeno peppers and cilantro. With a moderate malt profile, this culinary concoction offers both an easy drinking IPA & a bowl full of jalapenos without the burn or bittering one might expect. Never would Scoville have imagined such a fitting match for the world’s perfect pepper.

At Great British Beer Festival 2015. Day 3. Clear amber beer with a small offwhite head. Fruity hop aroma, spicy notes, kinda balanced chili. Unbalanced chili in the flavor, way too much to allow anything alse in this beer.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Clear amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light and semi dry and has a fine crispness. Good sweetish orange marmalade is detectable before the chilli kicks in, burns and dominates. Light finish. Chilli linger. For this kind of beer it’s not bad, but why anyone would want more than a couple of gob fulls is completely beyond me.

Cask gravity at gbbf 2015 day 3. Thanks. Clear orange golden coloured pour with no head. Aroma is bark, veg pepper, chilly, veg. Flavour is composed of base malt, bready, veg pepper, veg matter, warming chilli, but quite smooth. Palate is warming chilli, semi sweet low carbonation. OK chilli a but too much veg.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2015. Clear amber chilli aroma. Chilli flavour heat builds. Some lemon lime. Not terrible but one sips enough.

Sampled at Black Squirrel’s NKOTB event pours a clear, dark gold with a ring of white head. Nose has quite a bit of jalapeno, green bell pepper too, some light malt. Flavor has a bit more complexity, hits with the jalapeno right off the bat, but some muddled citrus too, lime, some herb. Dry, peppery finish.

Bought a 6 pack, have had a few bottles since buying it. Can. Poured a dark yellow, light copper color with a medium sized white head. Aroma is pretty solid jalapeno fruit, some very mild heat, but not a lot - mostly just that bell pepper-style fruit character. Flavor was pretty malt forward, with only a bit of heat - not a spicy beer. Okay. Would drink again.

On tap. Pours a nice amber with minimal head, aroma very clean with a hint of pepper. Smooth with a nice non-spicy jalapeño finish that lingers. Fun to try, but would not have more than one nor likely order it again.

Can at griffon pub clarence. Spice finish. Decent hoppiness and drinkability.
