COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mad Max is the first collaboration in the Deep Undercover series so we invited award winning brewer John Roberts of Max Lagers to come hang out with us and brew up another amazing beer. JR brings loads of experience and knowledge to the table so we always look forward to working with him on collaborations. After a little back and forth on the basic premise for the beer we moved on to how we would make this beer unique and interesting. JR mentioned using his German Lager yeast for some good fruity notes as well as bringing down his hopback so we could incorporate whole leaf hops. The great thing about a collaboration is the shooting from the hip. We didnít have a laid out plan for our hops but between the two of us we just started vamping on what we wanted to add. With a little here and a lot there we felt the hop profile was going to be amazing. Turns out, we were right.

Mad Max is proving to be our juiciest hop driven beer to date. Amazing tropical fruit aromas mixed with punchy evergreen and pine notes. Great rounded flavor from honey and munich malt with a hint of spicy complexity from rye malt and Saaz hops. Dripping with hop flavor and aroma, balanced by malt complexity with well rounded mouthfeel, Mad Max will have you singing like Tina Turner for more.

Growler from Ale Yeah! Copper color, with a medium, beige head. Aroma of resin, strong pine and some hard cheese. Very bitter flavor, with very little malt backbone. Medium to heavy body, very sticky, and very astringent. Overall, this is an overly abrasive beer. Very strong hops, but lacking balance and subtlety.
