COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The warden of JailHouse Brewing Company Certifies this summer seasonal red ale to be your well-deserved reward for good behavior and expects you will find its enticing flavors and aromas may carry through the long, hard, days of summer. Conjugal Visit is a medium bodied American Red Ale with a nice bed of malt roastiness, complimented by a titillating smack of centennial and palisade hops. The slight linger of bitterness is a reminder that this may be the last Conjugal Visit for quite a while.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head and strings of lace. Aroma of roasted malt. Light body with flavors of caramel, sweet malt and a touch of hops. The finish is short and malty. Just average overall.

Pours sharp reddish orange with one finger sandstone tan head. Nose is citrusy and herbal, peanut hull and bready malt. Moderate bitterness, piney and sharp hop character. Straight peanut hull.

This is a full-bodied beer that is sweet and sticky. A bit of bread, toffee, and slightly spicy bananas. Weak aroma. Easy drinking and pretty decent for a red. Kind of funky if you’re calling this an amber ale.

Deep coppery red body with a tall, long lasting, off-white head. The aroma is fruit and light molasses. The flavor follows the aroma with the addition of some hop bitterness that adds to the malt sweetness and then becomes dominant in the finish.

22 ounce thanks to Debi. Big malty caramel flavor. Something akin to a brown ale. Lacking the hops overdrive I expect from a big red. I may be drinking this too long after it was bottled and the hops have had some fade. Somewhat tasty finish.

Bomber from Thebeersommelier, thanks Matt. Poured a chunky brown body with an average sized foamy head. Aroma of bread, caramel, grains and grassy hops. Medium to fuller bodied with average carbonation. Flavor is loads of malts with lots of grains, toast and a light dirty citrus hoppiness. Solid amber ale.

Bottle shared thanks to Dmac at South Jersey BA Gathering. Pours out a muddy brownish color with a small head. Aroma is sweet caramel, toffee and bready malts. Taste is much the same, little bit of dried fruits, and maybe a touch of hop bitterness. Not bad, but leans too far towards the malty side for this hophead.

Bomber courtesy of Craftbeerdesign (thanks Geoff) poured a clear dark reddish asmber with a lasting amber head. Aroma of caremel, toasted malt, earthiness and light fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, toasted malt and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering malty finish. A solid malty amber but I prefer a little more hops in an Amber.
