The warden of JailHouse Brewing Company Certifies this summer seasonal red ale to be your well-deserved reward for good behavior and expects you will find its enticing flavors and aromas may carry through the long, hard, days of summer. Conjugal Visit is a medium bodied American Red Ale with a nice bed of malt roastiness, complimented by a titillating smack of centennial and palisade hops. The slight linger of bitterness is a reminder that this may be the last Conjugal Visit for quite a while. Juicy and full of titilating hop aroma. Caramel sweetness balanced with a plethora of piney resinous hop bitterness. Malty aroma, both bready and toasty with slightly sweet caramel notes on the perimeter.

Thanks to Aurelius! Dark brown pour with some dark reddish tints with a persistent beady off-white head. Aroma has some light nutty accents, some candy apple sweetness. Flavor has some toffee sweetness, a brief hint of citrus bitterness, some toasted bread, some light topsoil notes in the finish. Mouthfeel is decently thick.

Clear, darkish brown with a big fluffy ivory head. Spicy malt aroma. Malty, tannic, ABV is well masked, orange zest. Mouthy, not too heavy. One of the better examples of the style. On tap, at the brewery with LuckyDog.

Poured from bomber a deep, somewhat coppery reddish brown with a thick and frothy pale tan head. Aroma of prickley pines, earthy hops, caramel, bread, and some spices and black pepper. Flavour was of malts with lots of grains, toast and a light dirty citrus hoppiness. Solid red ale. Thanks Ed (Doughboy)

Poured a deep amber red almost brown color from the 22 ounce bottle with aromas of sweet bread, caramel, light hops, a touch of fruit and some light bitterness. Flavors match the aromas with some maltiness and booze in the aftertaste.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of dunn4040. Pours a mostly clear red with a large tan head that lasted until nearly mid-glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and caramel with a few citrus notes as well. The flavor is malt and caramel, but only lightly sweet. Dries out a bit towards the finish and is less sweet. A bit of bread towards the finish. Mild bitterness. Medium bodied. No problems.

A different kind of Amber than I expected. Appearance was awesome followed by average aroma in the nose. Malt backbone, while present, didnt leave any trace of mild sweetness that I expect in an amber. Had a little too much Irish red going on, though jailhouse releasing this "summer" seasonal around st pattys day(2014) maybe is what they had in mind. Bottle says 8% alcohol which is bordering on Imperial Amber status which this brew is not. Not a bad beer, just an average brew with an identity crisis.

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a hazy amber with minimal off white head. Aroma of hops. Very very bitter up front with not much else.
