Poured into a tulip glass. Not a big nose, but some aromas of caramel, nuts, toffee. Toffee color with a thin white head. HUGE English toffee flavor, with some peanut and spicy hop flavors. Coats the mouth and lets that toffee flavor linger. Really solid barleywine that masks the 10.5% ABV. If you’re a fan of toffee, this is your barleywine.

Bottle at The Porter with Linh, Scarlett and mom. Pours a murky brown body with no head, light off white lacing. Aroma is molasses, caramel malt and lots of booze. Mouthfeel is medium with spice, molasses, caramel malts and booze.

Found on sale at Sherlock’s. Pours a light medium brown with white head. Scent is bready with grape and booze. Sweet and bitter blend prevails throughout. A nice little brew. Bottle - Sherlock’s Wine Merchant - Decatur, GA

Bomber courtesy of CraftBeerDesign (thanks Geoff) poured a clear amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of toffee, sherry, earthiness, prune and raisin. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, light sherry and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

Bomber from Ale Yeah, Roswell. Pours a hazy dark red color with a thin foamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big toffee notes and spicy, resin hops. The taste is toffee, caramel, a mild bit of anise and chocolate, and mildly assertive piney hops. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness, prickly booze. Fairy straightforward barleywine, but solidly made.

Orange almost ruby redness with creamy off white head and lace. Aroma is large dried fruit and some resiny hops. Sweet maltiness with dried fruit with a decent hop bitter. A brown sugar like after taste. A smoothly carbonated beer. Pretty nice

Pours a hazy copper from the bottle with thin khaki head and light lacing. Aroma of molasses, caramel, toffee, sweet malts, and booze. Taste follows, way too sweet and too boozy for me. Not so great.

Bottle. Murky bronze in color with a small white head. The aroma is pretty foul. Toffee, chocolate, some dirty kitchen sink that hasn’t been cleaned in weeks and has a small puddle of standing water. Taste is better but it is very sugary. Tastes like a boozy sugar baby candy. Not too heavy of a body. Pretty forgettable.
