Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small foamy brown head that faded fairly quickly. The aroma was faint licorice and molasses. The flavor was roasty and dryish with notes of licorice, wood, bourbon and fruity hops. Medium length finish with roasty malts, wood and licorice lingering. A bit thin in body for a stout. Ok.

Very dark brown, almost black, with a medium-sized beige head that doesn’t last. Creamy, chocolate-y taste, with some strong coffee notes as well. Medium bitterness, not much aroma.

12 oz brown twist off. It pours a dark brown with a nice looking tan head. The head is fluffy and sticks for a bit. The smell is reminiscent of malt liquor, but in a good way. It has that nutty alcoholic scent along with a hint of cocoa. The taste is interesting to say the least. It has a nice bit of that roasted malt flavor that has almost a chocolate/cinnamon/wood character and a blast of sweetness. The malt liquor notes come through a little bit with the alcohol not being completely hidden, but compared to a malt liquor this is one smooth brew. Not bad. Bottle. Bought this on label alone’ it kinda looks like an arts and crafts project. Pour is pretty close to black with a thin tan head. Aroma is very pleasing with light roasted malt and a dominating chocolate milkshake aroma. Also faint hop, light chemical, and light molasses. Something just slightly off mixed in with lots of good aromas. Flavor also has that light chemical component but then loads of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a faintly hoppy finish. Not too bad, just a little off.

Dark pour, thick brown head with lacing that remained on the glass. Thin body, coffee flavor with tin can or metal tones that I didn’t enjoy. I don’t plan to buy Jamaica Stout again.

12oz bottle. Boom. One sip of this and I’m in the Caribbean. Sweet, rich, over the top. Opaque brown-black, thin beige head. Big brown sugary tones. Pungent dark fruit. Vanilla. Sticky, sugary finish coats the mouth. I’d say Caribbean Stout is an acquired taste, and that this really does the style justice even though I’m sure it’s overall rating won’t reflect that. Certainly mellows a bit as it sits and approaches room temperature. Rather brutal, like a high ABV Dunkel brewed with Candi sugar. A little hot, but overall a cool beer worth a try.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear flat black body with a one finger fizzy brown head that left some sparce lacing. The nose is rather sweet with some roastiness, and a hefty dose of burnt caramel. The flavor is a bit weak and thin, there’s a weird acrid burnt maltiness that doesn’t sit too well for the style or my personal preference. There’s also a rubbery note in there that isn’t too pleasant. Medium bodied with a slight stickiness that makes the rubber not stick around a bit too long. Soft fizzy carbonation. An unusual take, and not one that is especially good.

Dark black color, smells of coffee and dark chocolate. Also tastes like coffee. Very thick. Nothing overly special, gets this score because I just like this style.
