3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Been a while since I had a Foreign Stout, this one toed the line stylewise between the alcohol content and fruitiness of a typical foreign stout and the dryness and coffee thinness of a dry stout. But I enjoyed it. Poured black. Aroma was mostly coffee. Flavor was coffee, a bit of chocolate, and a light fruit character. Light bodied, hid the 7.6 very well. Not spectacular, but quite solid and enjoyable.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small foamy brown head that faded fairly quickly. The aroma was faint licorice and molasses. The flavor was roasty and dryish with notes of licorice, wood, bourbon and fruity hops. Medium length finish with roasty malts, wood and licorice lingering. A bit thin in body for a stout. Ok.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very dark brown, almost black, with a medium-sized beige head that doesnít last. Creamy, chocolate-y taste, with some strong coffee notes as well. Medium bitterness, not much aroma.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz brown twist off.
It pours a dark brown with a nice looking tan head. The head is fluffy and sticks for a bit.
The smell is reminiscent of malt liquor, but in a good way. It has that nutty alcoholic scent along with a hint of cocoa.
The taste is interesting to say the least. It has a nice bit of that roasted malt flavor that has almost a chocolate/cinnamon/wood character and a blast of sweetness. The malt liquor notes come through a little bit with the alcohol not being completely hidden, but compared to a malt liquor this is one smooth brew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Bought this on label aloneí it kinda looks like an arts and crafts project. Pour is pretty close to black with a thin tan head. Aroma is very pleasing with light roasted malt and a dominating chocolate milkshake aroma. Also faint hop, light chemical, and light molasses. Something just slightly off mixed in with lots of good aromas. Flavor also has that light chemical component but then loads of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a faintly hoppy finish. Not too bad, just a little off.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark pour, thick brown head with lacing that remained on the glass. Thin body, coffee flavor with tin can or metal tones that I didnít enjoy. I donít plan to buy Jamaica Stout again.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Boom. One sip of this and Iím in the Caribbean. Sweet, rich, over the top. Opaque brown-black, thin beige head. Big brown sugary tones. Pungent dark fruit. Vanilla. Sticky, sugary finish coats the mouth. Iíd say Caribbean Stout is an acquired taste, and that this really does the style justice even though Iím sure itís overall rating wonít reflect that. Certainly mellows a bit as it sits and approaches room temperature. Rather brutal, like a high ABV Dunkel brewed with Candi sugar. A little hot, but overall a cool beer worth a try.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear flat black body with a one finger fizzy brown head that left some sparce lacing. The nose is rather sweet with some roastiness, and a hefty dose of burnt caramel. The flavor is a bit weak and thin, thereís a weird acrid burnt maltiness that doesnít sit too well for the style or my personal preference. Thereís also a rubbery note in there that isnít too pleasant. Medium bodied with a slight stickiness that makes the rubber not stick around a bit too long. Soft fizzy carbonation. An unusual take, and not one that is especially good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark black color, smells of coffee and dark chocolate. Also tastes like coffee. Very thick. Nothing overly special, gets this score because I just like this style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a very dark color, with a fingerís worth of very nice tan head. Aroma is heavy on black coffee and black chocolate. The taste is fairly similar to the aroma, though there is a good bit of toffee as well. Body is medium. A good example of the style with quite a bit of character.
