Completely black underneath a giant, frothy, khaki head. Smells pretty good, too, with lots of toffee and some bit alcohol notes. Mouthfeel is surprising light and slick, but there are a lot of flavors here to like. Toffee, rum, brown sugar, big alcohol bite, and at 7.6% ABV, thatís not surprising. The hops are kind of funky, and not necessarily in a good way. I didnít have big expectations, but this is unique and pretty tasty. Worth giving a toss

Bottle from world beers. Pours inky black with a dark tan head. Smells surprisingly boozy considering itís 7.6%. Also chocolate. Not much alcohol in the taste. Lots of chocolate though and roasted malts. Pretty smooth. I like it.

REDDOGICE (206) - nantucket, Massachusetts, USA - APR 1, 2009
While not the best stout, this certainly ranks up there with the better ones. I smelled a hint of cocoa powder, and a dark chocolate bar. Personally, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to enter the world of stouts.

Dark pour, thick brown head with lacing that remained on the glass. Thin body, coffee flavor with tin can or metal tones that I didnít enjoy. I donít plan to buy Jamaica Stout again.

I couldíve sworn I rated this one already but oh well, here goes: Pours a dark rich mahogany with a tan head. Nose full of smoke, chocolate, and caramel. Notes of chocolate, charcoal, toffee, coffee, and caramel flavors on a solid frame.

Dark black color, smells of coffee and dark chocolate. Also tastes like coffee. Very thick. Nothing overly special, gets this score because I just like this style.

12 oz bottle. Drank Feb 09. Pours dark black, tan head. Aroma is some roast malt. Flavor is darkly roasted malts, very creamy, slightly metallic.

Iím a big lover of stouts but nothing really stands out about this particular one. It has a malty flavor but I would consider it to be one dimensional.

On popping the cap one is greeted by a very pleasing aroma of roasted malt.Pours with a small off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. The flavour is very balanced, not overly bitter and harsh like FES and yet not overly sweet. It goes down rather smoothly with a slight alcoholic burn and most importantly it's not overly heavy on the palate and it leaves a rather pleasant after-bitter.
