Egon (301), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 18, 2006 Bottle. This stout had the misfortune to be tasted after Nils Oscar and it pales in comparison. Black with a light browish foam. Quite thin for a stout. Some sticky carbon dioxide.

Added to my RB list to check "Jamaica" as a beer country consumed. Deep dark liquid with nary a head. Anise and coffee notes. Medium palate. Not a heavy stout. pivnizub (3770), Porúří, Germany Feb 17, 2007 Bottle (300ml): Coffee-black coloured, small brownish head; sweet coffee, dark malt and roasted malt in the nose, hints of liquorice, too; not very dry bitter flavour, medium bodied; fruity and (port-)vinous finish with a lingerin (malty-)bitter aftertaste. A good and easy-drinking Stout........ Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 9, 2007 (Bottle 30 cl) Clear, dark brown with a red hue and a dense and creamy cappuchino-style head. Roasted, vinous aroma with the alcohol showing. Only a medium body, very smooth mouthfeel and mildly roasted malt accents - no ashtray here. Again the alcohol is really shining through. Not a great stout, but actually a rather pleasant drink. 090207 iowaherkeye (1375), rocking podunk Marengo!, Iowa, USA Jan 14, 2007 300mL bottle, no date from heemer77, thank you Eric. Pours black with a half finger dark beige head. Aroma of some chocolate, roasted malts, coffee liquer, paper, and possibly a bit of bourbon. Flavor is very boozy with roasted malts and some chocolate, a bit of wood and a bit of acidity. Dry slightly bitter finish. Smooth low carbonation, light-medium body--moreso than what I would’ve liked. Pretty decent. Styles (1653), Taylor, Michigan, USA Jan 9, 2007 Dark brown, film for head. Faint coffee and chocolate, seems oxidized, can’t find a date on bottle though. Flavor has a nice chocolate kick to it up front, but fades into light sourness int he finish, could be past it’s prime. Body thin and watery.
