James Boag’s Pure - water, barley, hops and yeast – all from the only place that is possible, Tasmania. A lager that sources it ingredients from the island and is brewed with no preservatives and no artificial additives to ensure it is the closest thing to purity. Pure in taste, pure in ingredients, pure by nature.

Light hoppy aroma, slightly stale. Clear pale golden colour with ok head. Very bland taste, with little to no finish. Light body with high carbonation.

I call them all eurolagers. Nothing special. Just a yellow thing in your glass.

Bottle 33 cl at Boag’s Brewery and Centre For Beer Lovers, Launceston, Tas. Sampled on August 5, 2013.
Clear golden color, white head. Malty, crisp, clean taste. Malty aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Sweet, malty scent.

Just another standard commercial beer. Taste is like burnt metal just has nothing going for it. Average

Bottle- A very boring beer. Not up to Boag’s usual standard. Nothing special.

Clear gold with a thick head that slowly dissipates, wide rings of lace. The appearance is nice, the beer is not. Thin malt (or maybe corn or rice) that doesn’t move from that base, except to add a little carbonation at the finish. Disappointing.

So I’m only the third person is the US to rate this. Cool. Pours a clear light golden color with a little amber present and a thick white head. Aroma is of your typical main stream imported lager. Has a skunked malt and hop aroma with some carn. Flavor is that skunked malt taste and a little hop bite. Bringing up the back end is aluminum and grain. Has an aluminum malt and hop finish. I must admit; I was expecting a little worse but this one is better than, say, Carlsberg.
