Bottle. Pours amber. Roasted malts. Drinkable. Average at best. This is what Budweiser would be putting out as their "Brown Ale". ----Hophaze out

The body has a nice russet brown/red brown color with good clarity and visible carbonation. Its head is a little on the thin side at only about ½ an inch from an aggressive pour. This small head slowly fades to a wisp thin layer that holds on well and even makes some thin lacing. In the nose I pick up sweet malty notes of caramel and brown sugar with lighter hop earthy hop notes in the background. On the tongue there is a medium bodied malty character with a solid base of bready sweet flavor. In it I pick up notes of caramel and roasted malt, brown sugar and a very slight hint of maple like sweetness. Hop flavor is subtle and only offers a slight herbal/earthy flavor and light bitterness for balance. The texture is light and easy going with wet well carbonated feel.

Bleh. Sourish, somewhat bitter, artifically sweet brew. Minimal body. Hard to drink. Not enjoyable.

hotstuff (4058) - Indiana, USA - APR 2, 2014
Rated on 3-10-2011 (Bottle) This beer has a medium sized frothy, fizzy tan head that mostly diminishes, transparent reddish brown body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, roasted, nutty, and a hint of dark fruits. The taste is nutty, caramel malt and roasted. The mouthfeel is tingly carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is easy to drink but needs some character to help improve on the flavor.

Bottle. A- Light, toasty, chocolate. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, minimal head. T- Roasty, slightly malty, subtle chocolate. P- Medium body, thin texture, soft carbonation, smooth finish. O- Not too memorable. Not a bad brown ale, but lacking a lot of qualities. A little on the thin side too. The flavor is good, but not great. It’s almost there.

Needs more flavor, aroma, body. You know, just more of everything. This beer was just too thin. By nature, brown ales tend to me mild. Still, this one is far too much of a minimalist to recommend.

madvike (2664) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 26, 2013
Bottle - Pours deep dark brown with a thin light tan head. Nose is toasted dark bread, mellow yeastiness, muted caramel, some plastic. Yeah, not all that great. Taste is mineral and dry dark bread, slightly toasted with some metallic notes, a little plastic, and a hint of chocolate. Finishes dry and slightly yeasty. Thin and watery, with limp carbonation.

Pours a ruby brown with a decent off white head. Pretty good brown ale. Initial flavor was good but ended a little watery and tasteless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
