Throw your expectations out the window. We know Stouts are supposed to be dark, but what fun is that? Really. Casper White Stout is a white buffalo standing out from the herd – a diamond in the rough, white chocolate – you get it. Distinctively golden in color with big Pilsen malt flavor, and a touch of hops. Your next step? Pour it in your glass. Available in 6pack Cans and on Nitrogen Tap.

Clear golden blonde pour with a 1 finer, frothy white head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate syrup, creamed corn and a little toffee. Flavor is sweet corn, vanilla, chocolate, toast, and light planty hops. Light body, neutral to slightly oily feel and light, but sharp carbonation. Decent, pretty weird, not sure why it is listed as a stout, I’m pretty sure it’s just a Golden Ale with some chocolate and vanilla flavoring. It reminds me of Great River Dirty Blonde, but not quite as good.

I enjoy stouts and was eager to try this since it seems so different and unique. This was not good to me. Not really having expectations for it, I thought it tasted amateur-ish. I see no reason to have it again since any homebrewer could make something comparable.

Can from Drinks of the World Zurich. Hazy golden body with puffy head. Nose is really sweet, chocolate and malts. Taste is hoppy, dark chocolate, really nice dark chocolate finish. Quite nice and different.

Can. A- Candy, white chocolate. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Sweet, white chocolate, subtle bubblegum. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. O- All my intuition told me this was gonna be bad. But I still had to have it. Why? Because it was a white stout and the only way to find out what the hell a white stout is would be to buy and drink it. This is certainly no stout in my book, and I agree with the style category now. I expected a white or even brown color. Nope, golden orange. Smell was that of sugary candy and palate was not that roasty chocolate goodness I know in a stout. It wasn’t repulsive but it was weird. Smelled and tasted like white chocolate but at the same time I’m not sure it actually does taste or smell like white choclate. Hell if I know.

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a twelve ounce can. This beer a super clear and yellow, nice carbonation. I wish there was a bit more head. This beer does not tastes as it looks. Nice chocolate, mostly coffee flavors. I wanna brew this beer, but add a hit more roastiness and bit of smokeyness.

On tap at Ellyn’s Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL., and nitro pushed to a snifter displaying a cascading show with an amber/gold hue, cream colored fluff that was thick & persistent, and some waves & spots of lacing. The nose was sweetness, caramel, toffee, vanilla, and cocoa nibs. Light to medium bodied, with creaminess from the nitro, carbonation was low, promoting a bit of watery & thin texture. The taste added some light cold coffee flavor, and a touch of roasted bitterness to the other notes, finishing with a subtle dryness. Initially offered as a shaker full, but a snifter was sufficient to show the fairly tasty, but novelty aspect of this brew.

From a keg at a party. Very interesting brew. Getting both grainy yeastiness and also that slightly bitter peaty Irish stout finish. A nice summer take on a stout but I still found the flavor a little laborious and tiresome.

From a can, gold with a big white head. Full bodied and creamy, with slight cocoa and malt aroma. Malty, too sweet chocolate flavor with cloying finish. You can taste that "natural flavor added", unfortunately.

330ml can served in a pint glass. Pours a hazy orange color forming a huge creamy white head. Very sweet nose. Strong notes of white chocolate, wheat and pale malts. A big herby and spicy. Taste follows the nose: Sweet upfront: Strong notes of white chocolate. Milky notes too. Grassy hops. Low hops bitterness. A sweet beer, in overall. Medium body and carbonation. White chocolate again in the aftertaste. Good drinkability.
