From bottle. Poured rust color with quick dissipating head. Mild taste of barley. Easy drinking beer but nothing to remember it for.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 otakuden (1616) - Vero Beach, Alabama, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Appearance: ruby and garnet under an off-white head both thick and smooth with lace along the sides. Fades with a thin film lingering in the middle. Swirls bubbly.
Nose: apple mush – flesh than skin and starting to turn brown from sitting out in the open air. Moss and hay bales in back. Nondescript dry crunchy breads in the back. A tad musty and dusty.
Palate: apples – sweet flesh than bitterness of the skins. Cinnamon sticks, twigs, and dried old bread underneath. Dried apple skins in the back. Hint of staleness along the edges.
Final Thoughts: a marginal amber lager in a market of mostly marginal amber lagers. While quite possibly on its way south, the beer itself was still okay. Nothing to write home about and nothing to remember though certainly not a drain pour.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 bsp77 (724) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2011
Serving glass: Poured from bottle into a tall glass.
Appearance: Clear amber with thin off-white head; no lacing.
Aroma: Sweet caramel and bready malts. That’s it.
Taste: Where is the taste? Light bready malts with the slightest touch of noble hops.
Palate: Moderately high carbonation, very thin, watery body.
Overall: I have a hard time believing this is a Vienna. Nothing offensive here, but certainly nothing worth returning to either.

Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is yeast bread and caramel. Flavor is sweet and malty, earthy and grainy, with a hint of bitterness.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 CanIHave4Beers (2495) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - APR 11, 2011
This exceptionally nice looking beer pours a deep rust color with a big tight white head and lots of great lacing on the glass. The aroma is earthy, floral, and fairly soapy. It doesn’t smell terrible but it’s not the most inviting of aromas in a beer. The flavor reminds me a bit of the aroma, it’s got lots of floral bitterness and rosewater. The beer is astringent and lacking in much malt flavor or complexity. The beer isn’t very well balanced and leaves me wanting for the malty well crafted Amber Lagers of WI. The beer admittedly gains some mild malt flavor, gets fruitier, and a lot less astringent once it warms a bit, but it retains the messiness of the first sip a little too well.

Tap. Mostly clear amber pour with a clingy white head. Pretty simple aroma and flavor of caramel malt and mild hop. Okay.

Decent bready aroma and flavor, easy to drink, not offensive, more of a simple session beer than anything.
