badgerben (3160), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Sep 13, 2004 Autumn Brew Review 2004. Strange brew... Dark straw color with a good sized head. Weak aroma of wheat. Kind of a wheat and malt taste, but some spice and hops that aren’t in a typical wheat. I stick by my original comment: strange... DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Jul 19, 2004 (12 oz bottle) Very mild wheat flavor, somewhat sweet and spicy like a Belgian with a subtle pale maltiness lurking in the background; Bubblegum finish; The spicy, light bubblegum nose has a Belgian character to it, but the nose is also a bit on the sweet side; Light bodied with a modest zip on the palate, but generally not all that exciting; Hazy pale yellow with a very small head on the pour, and absolutely no head within maybe 15 seconds; Only a handful of carbonation bubbles slowly rise toward the surface; No lacing; Different type of American summer brew, almost a Belgian Light beer, and while not great, it's decent enough and I appreciate that it's not just a boring light wheat beer like most American summer beers Nuffield (2541), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 11, 2003 A hefe profile came through for me, with the clove aroma having something like artificial watermelon candy as well. Mostly clear, just a bit of haze in the dirty yellow color. This was disappointing flat in appearance and palate, with only the fact that I was eating some rather salty rice pilaf able to compensate by stimulating a nice secondary fizz in my mouth. As it warms it ends somewhat limp in the mouth. Acceptable, but with much disappointment. JK (2501), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Dec 25, 2003 Slightly cloudy. Aroma of a hefe weizen, and one of the few beers where I can actually find banana in the aroma. Flavor of a mild hefeweizen. Thin. ok. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Sep 14, 2004 2004 Autumn Brew Review: Coudy. I’ll Go with Straw Coloring. Big Head. Thar Be a Different Sort of Summer Ale...Wheat, Hops and Some Spice to it. Fruit. Would Like to Try Again.
