COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chai Tea and Porter have finally hooked up. Why Not? Seriously bold flavors of Ginger, Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Anise combined with a six-malt blend, make this a hands-down discovery in beer. What is a Dhaba, anyway? Weíll give you a hint, think of India.

Pours clear cola brown with a minimal, creamy beige head. Aroma is mostly chai spice, seems a little overboard on the cardamom, a little dark caramel and crystal malt-like sweetness. Flavor is loaded with spice again, but starts off nice and promising, very much chai-like with a light caramel backbone and a hint of black malt that seems to not mix well with some of the spices as by the finish there is a bitter, spicy, woody bitterness, that just doesnít do much for me. Light to medium body with a sugary feel and medium-heavy, soda-like carbonation. Not very good. Honestly, if I did a blind taste test on this I might think it was some sort of weird spiced Birch/Root Beer experimental soda. That would be fine, except that it really isnít very good to boot, not really bad, but not all that beer like.

This seems a bit underrated. Its really heavy on the chai spices, lightly creamy, some cocoa, and very light roast. I enjoyed it.

Peculier Pub, NYC can ($6): Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is chai, sugar, and some light roasted malt. Taste and aroma are a combination of clove, ginger, and cinnamon. I donít think I really detected any anise. In honesty, it doesnít taste entirely like a chai... it is like the tastes of that thrown into a light porter. Meh.

Super dark brown color, almost opaque. Healthy beige head. Allspice note in the aroma. Mild allspice/nutmeg, pumpkin pie-like aroma. Light-medium body. Fairly subtle for spice beer. Clean finish.

Poured with a reasonable light tan head that lingers with a light cover, some lace and has an opaque black brown color. I don't pick up any of the spices in the aroma just basically Porter. I am not a chai tea drinker so I don't remember those flavors but the spices in this beer are reminiscent of holiday spices. To me they don't go so well together. The body is okay. This beer might be for some but not for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

If you adore chai tea with milk, then youíll love this beer. This porter blends perfectly with the chai tea flavors and spices and has a hint of creaminess.

Nice Porter pour, a deep brown body with a modest, creamy light brown head. The aroma is strong with the Chai Tea (not a real favorite), almost completely masking the scents from the dark malt. In the flavor, the malt comes across as lightly toasted, but the rest is about the tea, followed by a light ashy bitterness. Okay, but (ouch) not really my cup of tea.

Canned. Poured medium sienna with a uniform toasted beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter tea, nutty notes, and light biscuit, with vanilla and cocoa accents. The flavor found somewhat tart tea upfront, with vanilla, caramel, and nutty notes following.. almost pumpkin pie-y spices from the tea on the slightly grainy finish. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation.. OK feel.. solid brew.

Moderate sample pour of murky dark brown with no head.... Iím trying to build a head and itís not happening. Aroma smells like new shoes, seriously, weird... Chai notes on the nose and mouth. Sweet with vanilla presence also. I donít hate it but I definitely donít love it...

Thin looking black pour with a few inches of healthy beige head. Sweet bready aroma, cinnamon aroma is strong. Low carbonation, somewhat thin mouthfeel, finishes gritty. Sweet chocolatey porter taste with chai latte thrown in, lots of cinnamon but not too creamy, strong vanilla too. This works well for just one or two.
