3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Seriously fresh, young, green hoppiness harking back to the glory days of fresh Speculator in 2004 and exactly the kind of beer this place does well. Hop aroma hits immediately with tropical fruit and oranges, a touch of creamy yeast behind. Still some yeast in suspension, so thereís buckets of hop flavour - more quantity than quality perhaps but itís impressive nonetheless. Malt is fresh and chunky and thereís a tiny bit of clean alcohol. Bitterness is big and long and too coarse for me, but itíll probably settle as the yeast drops out. Certainly not the most elegant beer, but big and fresh and flavoursome, which is really what brewpubs should do I reckon. Reminds me of 8 Wiredís beers.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Melbourne CBD. Very well balanced IPA. Aromas of caramel and grass. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and very long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.
