This was such an unexpected surprise. Very refreshment drop and pleasing on the old palate. Enjoyed one of these with Betty on a beautiful sunny arvo on the Harbour in Sydney. Damn she was looking good after a few.

This was the one beer that changed the way i enjoyed beer
It was superb back when it was a seasonal melbourne only brew which diminished quickly when they went to megabrew but also coincided with the hop shortage of 2008 that effected Amarillo more then most other hops
This will usually pour with a fairly low carb coppery color and a long lasting head thanks to the wheat that will lace to the bottom of the glass

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Pours a golden amber color with really nice lacing throughout. The smell is subdued a bit, but I get a little sweet malts and some minor citrus hops. The taste is very refreshing and quite carbonated. There was some nice citrus (lemon zest) with medium bitterness and just a nice clean finish that has some lasting power. A quite nice golden ale.

Pours an appropriate golden colour with a crisp white head. It has an enjoyable but slightly lacklustre aroma of citrus and a bit of melon. The flavour is of citrus, a slight note of honey, and summer stone fruit. A great drink for a hot day.

...my favorite of the Squire line, on tap. nice, floral, and slight citrus notes with a well balanced malty mothfeel. It had density, not watered down, or overly carbonated, overall decent.

Rather low carbonation for a summer ale but with nice floral aroma and with a balanced minor sweetness

Tasting tray at brewpub Clear golden amber, head that clings to the side of the glass. Mandarin & stonefruits with quite a dry sharp finish. Different enough but nice.

Crisp, Refreshing summer ale boasting sweet aromas. There is a time and a place for all JS beers, golden ale is definately one meant for hot days in the sun. A slightly sweet, malty flavour. Really enjoyed it

Great summer beer. Light floral aroma. As good a golden ale as I have had in Australia. James Squire’s gets knocked quite a bit but I think they are a great producer of easy to find beer. Will appeal to most peoples pallet. In the style of an English pale ale. I doubt this is many peoples fav beer but nor is Tooheys new, one to drink again and again
